This isn’t to say that the rest of the bombing campaign was wrong, far from it; but Dresden was a terrible mistake.
Regards
Are you fully aware of the facts and events leading up to the raids on Dresden and the decisions behind it. The raid has been debated on here many times and you could just as easily argue that other raids by both sides were non essential.
We are also judging events based on 65 years of peace, not 5 years of constant and relentless war.
It is also known that following the war, Churchill in his memoirs rewrote history and distanced himself from the actions of Bomber Command, knowing that their actions could upon reflection be viewed as controversial.
The daily wail doesn’t do any favours with the title of the article either.
Sadly the memorial is controversial largely due to ignorance.
Could have been worse I suppose, if he’d picked up and parked a VC10 outside then I suppose she’d have the right to have a little complain.
Cmon guys. We’re being far too sensible & PC here. Death to all cyclists. You get double points for running over cyclists over 50 😀
Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough (and aren’t in a big lorry) 😀

So random acts of violence are ok, what next beating a child to a bloody pulp because they answered back? Kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach because she is taking up too much space?
Most road users and cyclists are fine, however some road users seem to think that cyclists should not be on the road (it’s illegal to ride on the pavement) and do not make allowances for them. Considering it takes me fifteen minutes less to make a journey to uni on a bike instead of driving, is healthier, better for the environment and a fraction of the price it amazes me the contempt that the world has for cyclists. Maybe with attitudes like this we should have let Hitler win the war.

Perhaps he is on this forum and heard it was going for £69.99
I think Spitfireman offered a bit more than £70 for it:D
My dad still has a couple of bits of Sea Venom FAW22 S/N XG727 which crashed on 6th December 1957 as a result of engine failure near Ashill, having taken off from Merryfield as he popped out there the day after and recalls being told by a sailor to keep away from the engine as there was a live cartridge still there.
Considering how busy Yeovilton was with the naval aviators I’m not overly surprised.
Are you going to include any accidents from Westlands even though technically they wouldn’t have been handed over to the military at the time of any crashes.
Can’t remember where it is but I’m sure somewhere on one of the A roads to Bath from the south there is a roadside memorial to a SHaR pilot that lost his life when it went down.
No – It has been stripped of its Rolls Royce engine! 😉
If that’s the case then £58.36p
