Having read Empire of the Clouds there is a passage where the author describes being allowed to fire off a round in a meteor, oh to do that these days.
Still I think that the gun camera footage (if it had been fitted) would show that the wall can be put down as a confirmed kill!

This is where I am with the artwork so far (a few odds n sods to finish off) so any extra info would be very gratefully received.
I’ll just focus on the good news
If you have email then you can just attach the images to an email and send them over which would be very handy.
Or go to a website such as photobucket which hosts images and upload the images to there for everyone.
Either way I really appreciate the fact you have found them and can’t wait to see them.
Chucked up in the historic area (that’s sadly what they are now here) but here’s a link to some photos from yesterday.
The sky hook option was looked into with the Harrier, no idea what the conclusion was but clearly not viable at the time.
But as has been stated don’t see why UAV option isn’t something that can be completely ruled out.
Nowhere near as good as a lot of the other photos that have appeared over the last few days but then I’m not a photographer and the weather was dismal
Not the best photos but then I’m an artist not a photographer but hope you like these, if anything is out of focus it was probably the shivers!

Can I just say a big thank you to everyone at Cottesmore for today, great to see the GR1 and SHar on display and the shutting down of all those engines is a a sound that will stay with me, very haunting.
Thanks for showing us the pics,, truly a sad time for the Harrier community and certainly not one of the UK’s finest hours.
Agreed, seeing some amazing photos but at what cost?
Going to be an interesting day tomorrow.
Several have already been allocated to museums around the country, don’t know where they are all going but good to know that they will be saved.
Looking forward to tomorrow, just hope the weather over Cottesmore is good.
Don’t forget what he did for Premiership rugby with the Cherry and Whites (Gloucester), I know that as a F1 and rugby fan his loss has been felt across both sports.

I wonder how an Israeli ended up on the sheet as it wasn’t even a country at that point
I have come across passages about Sikh pilots but that was more due to the ‘novelty’ value as there were so few Sikh pilots. I would personally assume that there were quite a few Jewish pilots.
People tend to be interested in what they can relate to or identify with so for this individual who clearly feels strongly about the religion it is something which needs covering. Though when listing pilots as ‘Battle of Britain’ I wouldn’t include Bomber or Coastal Command in with that.
Any idea what the schedule is for Wednesday, the weather looks like it will be better than any time in the last few weeks.
Thanks again for all the photos Stacy
Ne real surprise it was always on the card whatever, the Tories love privatising stuff!
I do agree that the UK should look at adopting the US model of reservist pilots it would offer cost savings whilst maintaining capability.
That would be better than nothing but the way it is going they’ll be adopting the Ryan air model if the Government gets their way.
