I was not trying to compare the F-22/35 with the Eurofighter.
I was simply answering the question of how the F-15 could remain operational through 2040 when some claim that the EF will have trouble in a post-2025 world.
The answer was simply that the F-15 has two newer planes (the F-22/35) that will handle future A2A threats and that the EF does not have anything in the pipeline that will be available to take over for it in the A2A role by 2025.

There was nothing nationalistic in what I said. All I said was that the F-15C/D can stay in service because the F-15C/D will not have to be the top fighter for the US throughout it’s whole lifetime.
Neither the Eurofighter nor Rafale have a replacement on the drawing boards at this time. No, UCAVs are not it either. They are barely in their infancy in an A2G role and even assuming they can compete in an A2A role in the next 10-15 years is wishful thinking.
Kind of puts in perspective the F35 fanboys who claim that the Eurocanards aren’t going to be relevant past 2020-25 if the F15 is to last until at least 2040
Simple reasoning.
The F-15 will not be a primary fighter through 2040 as it can count on the combo of F-22/35 for that.
However, the Eurofighter does not have anything else to fall back on.

It’s not just the “MEU”, but the LHD that is your primary target, which could be hundreds of miles off shore. Good luck knowing where they are at without a navy, airforce, or UAVs.
As far as Aegis/F-35, they keep those same targeting assets away from the fleet and jam & intercept AShMs that are headed into the area.
You don’t need a navy to have ASCMs.
You do if you want to target the LHDs. Before you say “airforce” or “UAVs”, that’s what the F-35s and Aegis is for.
If you have not figured it out, the USN would tailor the response to fit the threat. They would not park the LHDs within sight of shore and would target any airfields first to keep the USN ships safe while they operated.
However, the times when you need a (marginally) supersonic (sorta) VLO aircraft and don’t have a CVN available will be few and far between and fail entirely to justify the F-35B commitment, with an aircraft acquisition cost alone equivalent to 600 Super Hornets.
Super Hornets cannot operate off of LHDs or from the austere bases they plan on using.

Denied airspace does not mean that they have any navy of worth (or any navy at all).
Libya had an IAD network that we needed B-2s, Growlers, and other EW aircraft to deal with which limited our ability to prosecute ground targets as quickly as we could have.
Not only that, but the B2s had to fly from the US on 25 hour missions.
Nobody is saying that having an LHD is all you need, only that when it’s the only thing you have then the presence of a supersonic VLO STOVL fighter on it’s deck will be greatly appreciated.
Remember that during the Libyan campaign the only carrier in the area was an LPD.
You will not always have a CVN in the area to go after high value targets in denied airspace.
Advances in CIWS (traditional cannon, laser, railgun, PGM, etc) will be (and is being) developed to detect and shoot down UAVs.
There is a quite similar system on the Rafale…
That’s good (and exists on other planes like the F-22/35 where it’s called “middleware”) but requires rewriting and integrating the middleware any time hardware changes. It is also limited to replacing existing systems (1 for 1 replacements).
Don’t misunderstand, I still think it’s impressive none the less.
UAI (and by association NUAI) allows for adding new weapons (& pods later) without any Block code changes across any platform that supports it.

Complexity of a gimbal got me thingking so I dug some more.
Turns out that somebody got it wrong, the NG Radar originally part of the Vigilance pod was the APG-80, not -81.
Here is a pic of the vigilance pod and that is clearly NOT an APG-81.

Here is what an APG-80 looks like and it’s clear that this was the radar that was proposed.

Looking back at several articles I see the authors mentioning both the 80 and 81 but I am unable to find any company (either LM or NG) that mentions the radar of Vigilance directly.
