It would be easier to put the 9x seeker on the AMRAAM then it would to make the 9x ejector-capable.
It would not surprise me if Israel makes Stunner internal since it’s the size of an AMRAAM and they have started testing an A2A version.
The Stunner is damn near 9x size.
You would need a few things:
1. Internal Battery to ignite motor
2. Folding Lugs
3. Wiring & connector
4. A channel for 2&3 that does not impose too much drag.
It’s basically everything needed to use the F-35 (ALIS, JPALS, tooling, parts, training materials, etc) that they wanted to defer in order to stay under a “cost cap” for the Ford. They basically want to do the same thing as they did with the Super Hornet, get it working with minimal functionality and hide it’s true cost in “post production” updates.
The next two carriers of the same class are a fixed-price contract so no problems there.
If they buy the F-35 then they will likely have access to the same network as the US since they opened it up to JSF partners in 2015.

In either case anyone looking to buy the F-35 now will have SATCOM before it’s ever delivered.
Since the F-35 will have SATCOM before the first Swiss F-35 is to be delivered, it’s a non-issue.

what is the most reliable source of F-35 technical data that you could recommend?
There is not a “singular” best source of information. The F-35.com site tends to have “generic” values while other sites will have more details about certain things.
Case in point, range. The info on F-35.com has the A2G combat radius of the F-35A as “>590nmi” while the FY2019 SAR has it at 669nmi. An Israeli presentation puts the A2A combat radius at 740nmi.
I am sure that there are many other examples of this and the best place to start your search is in the F-35 section of F-16.net.

If it’s that important, they could activate it at any time via a C2D2 update, just like they did with AGCAS.

4 F-35A arrived in Switzerland ( Payerne) for Testing.
I would not call the APG-82(v)1 a “new” radar and certainly not “newer” than the APG-81, especially given its TR2 update with Block 3i.
The APG-82(v)1 is an APG-79 backend with a APG-63(v)3 frontend and the APG-82(v)1 was originally named the APG-63(v)4.

To answer your other question, SATCOM comes to the F-35 in Block 4.
“paperless office” does not mean much if you allow stupid stuff to still occur.
CAse in point, a brand new VA facility in Florida was viewing a demo from our company who currently hosts major health system’s data every day (no name dropping but #1 for-profit HC system, #1 non-profit HC System, etc). The feds have been staunchly opposed to us hosting their data (in the “cloud”) and insist on hosting their own data, which we fully support.
In the middle of the demo, someone in another building uses a USB stick from home on their work PC.
…..
Two days later the local network comes back online.
How the F can Governmental computers be built with functional USB sticks and DVD drives, especially after Stuxnet? Even our sales force laptops, owners, lead devs, etc cannot attach a USB stick or access the DVD drive in order to severely limit how data comes into our system.
Remind me again of the F-35 pilots who want to go back to their 4th gen roots… That’s right, there are none. :stupid:
