It’s one thing to “copy” some aspects related to shape which can be dirived from the photos available on the net… It’s an entirely different matter to copy the avionics, software, etc which would require deep penetration cyber attacks (or a good spy) and industrial capability to accomplish.
IMHO using a sphere in a LO platform is the worst choice possible. The reason is simple: Building a LO platform is about signal “management” but a sphere does not manage its RCS. Instead, it scatters it in all directions.
A sphere reflects radar in all directions at the same time, so there is no hiding it. The EOTS (not EODAS 😉 ) uses the same approach pioneered by the F-117. The F-117 introduced faceting as a means of RCS management. They knew that the radar signals could not be wholly absorbed and controlling how they reflected would be the solution to a VLO airframe.
The EOTS’s steep angle guarantees that any emitter in the forward 90 arc will not get a radar return off the EOTS.

Israel initial order is now only 19 airframes. infact they dont believe the airframe will be more relevant.
The order was reduced by one airframe for economic reasons, not capability reasons. btw, The Israelis believe the F-35 is essential to their future security.
