The thing that baffles me about UAI is why it wasn’t done at least 20 years ago. When I first discovered how weapons integration was done (a long time ago) I was astonished. I’d previously assumed that some UAI-like system would be used, because it’s so blindingly obvious.

The only reason I can think of is “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. That and avionics hardware/software tends to lag behind everything else because they want to make sure that it is very stable.

Two steps to easy integration:
1. Add UAI support to next Blk batch (Fighter Mfg does this)
2. Add UAI to whatever weapon you have (Weapon Mfg does this)

Problem solved.

There has been talk of using AESA radars to actually cause damage to electrical components of other fighters and missiles. While fighter AESAs are small adn lack teh power to do a lot of damage, there is always the Sea-based X-Band radar setup that the US has.

Any thought on this and if it could be used to cause damage to a missile/rocket as it takes off (and at what range).

By all means make the Falklanders a party to a dialogue. Give them the opportunity to directly interface with the Argentinian government.

They were, in ’82 and did not like it one bit.

Let them communicate their concerns about the closer of ports directly, and let the Argentinians make their pitch about dual nationality directly.

I am sure that they don’t like the port situation one bit. I’m sure a mugging victim does not like to get robbed either. You don’t even need to ask them to find that out.

After all a mutually agreeable solution is not impossible as long as the first step is taken i.e. starting a dialogue process.

What happens when the Falklanders go to the negotiations and in the end still want the status quo (per citizenship and resource rights). What then, will Argentina FINALLY give up trying to get control of the Falklands?

‘Practice what they preach’? ‘Leave them alone’?

How is it still not the “good guy”? The UK is not the one with the aggressive overtones.

They still have EFs and a very good surface force in the area.

Hey, does that mean that Argentina should give up the piece of Tierra del Fuego? I mean it’s closer to Chile after all.

But that would also mean that the Falklands would then be closer to Chile.
