    mmmm, cider…;)

    Please be aware I accept not responsibilty for the effects of the local brew. If you are not familiar with its effects then proceed with extreme caution !
    The party will be held at the local Rugby club 100 metres from the site which supply the various run of the mill stuff for public consumption. If you want to try the hard stuff come and see me at the officers mess, be warned you may not wake up until the 2012 show.

    I disagree. Youngsters now receive such a paltry education in history, as in much else, that ANYTHING which helps to educates them better cannot be forgotten. By the same token you will find few who have ever heard of the two battles you mention. For that we should be ashamed.

    Not true all primary school kids learn about WWII as part of the curriculum including the battle of Britain. I recently entertained a group from a local school and fired up the Spitty. They loved it and sent me a pic from every kid in the class. I found them all very attentive while i gave them a 20 minute talk and asked allot of intelligent questions.
    Anyway this is about a show not school education!! it amazes me how many of these threads end up as an argumemt about an unrelated subject ???

    It’s time to let the Battle rest now. We’ll probably lose the rest of the vets this year and it’s so long ago, the youth don’t care or know, and it should slide quietly away into the history books like Trafalgar and Crecy. Even the bottom has dropped out of the Aviation art market. People aren’t interested anymore except a handful of people of web forums . . .

    Firstly its not just about the Battle and i dont agree it should be allowed to pass into History. I am seeking out veterans and although not all the youth appreciate what they did thats more down to lack of edication. This sort of event makes them realise the scarifise theyn made as well as being great fun. We have a top class pyro expert that will help bring the Battles to life.

    Being that I only live down the road in Weston, it would be rude not to turn up!

    I used to do a bit of the re-enacting stuff about 15 years ago, and still have my WW2 RAF kit. Trouble is, is that I may need a spot of liposuction to get into it again!

    I’ll be there, and give us a shout if you need a hand in any way!

    Regards;
    Steve

    Thankyou .We are planning a scenario which using pyros will give the chance to see a Spitfire firing its 20mm guns at a ground target and the resulting effects!:dev2:

    You are making the exception to the rule again, just like you did in your posting No. 5 in this thread.
    You are correct EVERY religion has it’s faults. But at least mine (and yours I guess) doesn’t kill people.

    Peter

    I think you would be hard pressed to find any religion in which the believers have not tried to kill the non believers at some point in history.
    In fact if there were some way of totaling up all the people killed in the name of God who ever God may be it would certainly exceed Hitlers total score.
    As regards to kidnapping Hitler in his madness he did a pretty good job of helping the Allies win the War so it probably would not have been a good idea.
