Sorry to say so far my experiances have not been good.
1: swapped a Liberator seat with a very well known and large museam recieved in return some Spitfire items which as it turned out did not belong to them.
2: Purchased a WWI prop on the instructions of a museam in the US after months of chasing them for payment I was told to swivel.
3: Lent a seat to a local Devon museam when i went to collect it they initially refused to give it to me siting various bogus regulations, all ended well as i simply picked it up and walked out.
4: New museam in Wales suported by local County Council offered to purchase a Hurricane project I held it back even though I had a customer in the states ready to go as I wanted it to stay in UK. After Months of emails and silence from their side, they told me they didnt have the funds.
I am sure there are many well run museams, its a shame some let the others down, personaly as soon as I hear the word Museam I tread with extreme caution.
I know how he feels Paul I get the same trouble :diablo::diablo::diablo:
Andy I hate to correct you but you are not up to date with current Spitfire technology, we used gaffer tape these days you know. 😀
Thats the place for limb problems, thats why its called the stork, drink, drugs other imagined issues the Priory. :diablo:
Tried calling last night to warn him about the crowds of fans that will inevitably be banging on his door. No answer he must have gone to ground, probably booked into the Priory :diablo::diablo::diablo:
It appears from all your coments its is clearly a fake, certainly had me fooled I guess I wasnt looking closely enough. I have seen RC planes hang on the prop like a Helicopter. I didnt think it was CGI when we did “Doctor Who” I asked the director why they neede a full scale replica if they have CGI. He told me its not good for close up detail and they needed something real.
You don’t need rudder once airborne.
And there is a little bit of the elevator left.Remeber that B-17, for got the name, that had its entire rudder ripped off, as well as an entire horizontal removed by a ramming Bf-109?
It too made it back to base after a long, long flight.
So, possible?
Absolutely.
But I bet he was sweating bullets and cussing the rammer the rest of the day! :diablo:
Quite true but you do need it as soon as you land surely, I cant imagine the elevator thats left would have much effect, clearly its possible as he made it down, but it must have been one heck of feat and probably required a new pair of trousers 😮
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story thats the Journalist code isnt it?
Hi Graham,
That video is CGI. There is no way that an aerobatic aircraft can lose a wing and return to the ground in one piece (unless you have a ballistic recovery system…)
Good pic of the Hurricane though. Amazing he got it down.
seriously? is that CGI, a fake? if so its pretty convincing, I dont think they can CGI detail as per bit at the end where he opens the hood.
Dont forget modifications so you can transport it £2K , transport, £10K and if you want an engine a spinning prop, and cockpit fittings add another 50K
I remember seeing a clip of an aerobatic aircraft loose it wing or wings and the pilot got it down on its wheels you would not belive it unless you saw it. Of coarse you cant hang a Spit or Hurri on its prop. A quick search on utube here is the footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LI5-LO2MAA&feature=fvsr
Well, I want one too. They look fabulous
20K and you can!
:diablo:Its Spitfireman he’s on here all the time. This is his favorite replica EN398.
chop it up into little pieces
And readers 😀
