Thanks Benyboy! The Hog pilots have stated that they have thoroughly enjoyed the flying in the UK. I was hoping for some Strike Eagles to come through the valley, but they chose an adjacent valley to play in. An interesting one was the C-130J. It made a steep approach straight into the last part of the valley. My last lot from an excellent few days.

You didn’t miss much TEEJ……:(
He did a better display on arrivals day Thursday – a couple of high alpha passes at least.
On Saturday all he did was a couple of slow passes down the runway axis – then climbed away back to Waddo.
OK – I know he isn’t a display pilot and and they don’t have a display routine yet and we should be grateful that they actually participated at all.
But they missed a great opportunity to show what the Su-30MKI can do aerodynamically.
I don’t mind so much as I have seen Vyacheslav Averyanov display the prototype Su-30MKI at Zhukovsky and he did things with that machine that aircraft aren’t supposed to do.
If the Indian AF pilots could just display one tenth of what Averyanov did, then it would leave the crowd speechless 😀
Ken
PS – First pic from Saturday, second from Thursday….
Thanks for that Ken!
I would have loved to have got some images of the Su-30MKI showing their top-sides etc. I now wish that I had gone to the arrivals days at RIAT!
Some images from the last two days of the exercise. I missed the Su-30 display at Fairford on Saturday as I was stuck in traffic for three hours waiting to get in.

Some efforts of mine over the last two days at RAF Waddington. I’m still
trying to get those little fly bugs out of my camera from Sunday at Duxford. They were dancing in my viewfinder today and annoying the hell out of me!

Fantastic images, Richard. Love the vapour!
FB… Then maybe thats why they asked you to leave, but we had to stay? There certainly was a lot of FOD about! What were you displaying? Maybe thats also why at least one of the indian IL76’s is still here too…because it’s stuck in ‘Alfa’ surrounded by coke cans and burger wrappers!!!
It’s not a 76. It the IL-78 Midas tanker. It is down to take part in the exercise aswell as participating at RIAT.
My take on the Indian Air Force arrivals at RAF Waddington today

Two images I took today of the IL-76 as it came into land at RAF Waddington

as you guys are talking about nato code for all aircrats can any one tell me if lca-tejas of india as got any ??
No. The codenames only cover FSU and PRC. The one lone exception, off the top of my head, was the Czech L-29 which received the codename ‘Maya’.
SOC says the Yak-130 is now officially the MITTEN.
Correct. The MiG-AT was designated MISER.
Arthur, the SH-5, like the L-39 never received one. Last ‘M’ was MAINRING (KJ-2000)
The Q-5 was name by NATO as Fantan, J-8II got Finback, what’r those I posted?
The names are not given by NATO.
The organisation that generates the codenames is ASIC, formerly ASCC. ASIC is made up of US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. NATO simply uses the codenames generated.
