You think that biased as he is, he’d make that up?
Nic
You obviously haven’t read many Lewis Page articles? Nobody said that he made it up. Page will take anything. It doesn’t make a slight bit of difference to him if it is a made up story. It is all fuel to him in order to continue his hatred for the RAF and its equipment. Take a look at the comments in reply to his articles. He is regularly taken to the cleaners over his biased opinions and has simply become a laughing stock in defence circles.

During 2009 (AE-09/2 8 – 19 June 2009) RAF Typhoons first attended Anatolian Eagle. No mention of Pakistani F-16s?

Pakistan attended AE-04/3 Training (27 September – 08 October 2004)

AE007/2 Training (11-22 June 2007). The UK took part with Tornado GR4s. This has already been pointed out by another poster on the thread.

AE-08/4 returns a corrupt link. Wiki has it down as 03 – 14 November 2008

So where is the evidence that Pakistani Air Force F-16s took part in an Anatolian Eagle exercise when RAF Typhoons were present?
The only way that this story could work out is if the Jordanian sent F-16s and were flown by Pakistani exchange pilots or that they were exchanged with the Turkish Air Force. The story does seem a bit far fetched when the known facts don’t add up to participants being there at the same time? Is it now a case of Pakistani forum posters realising that the time scales don’t match up and are now spinning for the ‘exchange pilot’ story in a back peddling effort?

Back on topic, Eurofighter news :diablo:

Good grief a Lewis Page article? Looks like he has been trolling the internet forums? Page is an ex-Royal Navy Officer who has a personal grudge against the RAF. A Troll of the worst kind. The Register and Lewis Page are not taken seriously amongst military professionals and many military enthusiasts.

No problem. In the past week it has been C-130K XV209. These will be assigned to Special Forces flight.
The C-130Ks flying racetrack patterns for hours over Worcestershire have also caused complaints in the past.
http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/4160628.Military_aircraft_responsible_for__drone_/
In a letter to Peter Luff, Mid-Worcestershire MP, under secretary of state for defence Kevan Jones apologised for the latest disturbances caused by the planes but said they were “part of essential training over the Worcester area”.
“The aircraft are not breaching air regulations,” he said.
“The activity is linked to current operational theatres and this will continue for the foreseeable future.”
Mr Jones said the aircraft were flying within an area designated as low flying zone 4 which covers part of south Worcestershire and were not breaching regulations as they kept above 2,000ft.
Photographs of XV209 at Waddington have appeared on the enthusiast forums in the past week.
Hopefully you will be able to see the enthusiast spotting logs at RAF Waddington?
10th June.

It was never that dark, Ben. I was there too! It is an interesting interpretation though and looks impressive! Great shot!

Probably one of the RAF C-130Ks that operate out of Waddington now and again? Probably best not to ask? I noted it on the 9th droning away for hours south of Lincoln.

Does anyone know if the Norwegian AF scrambled any interceptors.
Over the last several years Russia in slowly but, consistently increased the ‘Bear’ activity.
Yes. From Google translate of the following link
The Norwegian F-16 fighter plane was up and observed the Russian aircraft, which was on a road trip west and south, before they flew along the coast of Norway north, “said a senior spokesman of the Armed Forces Operational Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel John Espen Lien.

I’ve got a photo in front of me right now of a Libyan MiG-23, tail number 6916, equipped with four AIM-9 Sidewinders…
Mike
Mike,
Are you sure they are not AA-2 Atoll? The four AA-2 fit was commonly seen on Libyan MiG-23s during the 1980s spats with the US Navy.

Back on topic, there is a programme on TV called “Area 51, I was there”. Were they there? It’s going to be on Nat Geo……so it lends itself to credibility? Do Nat Geo. do any proving or just broadcast any old tat with a modicum of science in it?
It airs tonight in the UK at 9:00PM (Sunday 5th June) on the National Geographic Channel. The programme has already aired in the US.
Former Area 51 staff are interviewed.
