The big question which no one seems to have discussed here is – how much?
The Yorkshire press article states that the “servicable” aircraft are likely to go for a couple of hundred thousand, but in reality they dont have any engines fitted.
A new/replacement Garrett Turbo Prop is going to cost £60/£100k at current $ exchange rates, then add in the cost of overhauling the aircraft to start with. I dont know how much Everett Aero are asking for the one they have for sale but would suspect it cant be that much as a basic airframe – £40/£50k? so at a guess it would seem that it is going to cost circa £200k to get one in the air.
Anyone have any ideas?
