Looks just like a DC-9 to me….
Just beat me to it… no such thing as MD anything or 717… DC9 only.. that is all!!:dev2:
Very good pics as ever.
Has all the UK spotters moved to NWI by the way?.. most posted airport on key now! not a bad thing, just an observation..
Very good stuff.. good to see a decent week at GLA… and it continues.. in the last 12 hours a US Navy Herc, Air Nostrum Dash 8 on delivery and an A6- Challenger.. all still in i believe!
BA use 777s occasionally on the LHR and LGW to GLA routes on occasion since BMI pulled out.
ahh fantastic post!! i absolutely love the seven oh… a true classic…. sort of had one over my head in france yesterday… well it was an e3 flying table… still just a modified 707..was doing bumps at Vatry as i was in a srvice station…lovely!!
thanks for the comments… very kind:D
VeeOne, yes it was 27L i started off in the field at Cains Lane, then as the sun moved round went to the field at Myrtle ave done some head ons there as sun was straight down their noses! then over to hatton cross station area for the rest as the sun was setting. for 27R landers the only place i go is near the industrial estate at the front of BA maintenance where aircraft used to cross the road.. not so good for parking though.. luckily,as a courier i can get access to the estate and park the van there..tbh when on 27R i tend to just go to the garage near T5 (near threshhold of 09R) and shoot take-offs off of 27L, get some awesome shots especially of the heavies just after rotation from there.
cheers again
thanks folks.
i have no idea if the open skies get maintained there… was a nice surprise for me… first time i have seen one!!
Nice!! do like the Vueling colours… really is time Iberia did something about their colours… very old looking now!
Last lot……

That is all Cheers!
yeah it is busy enough indeed there was something on approach at all times all day, just mostly TAP!… no tease on the TAAG 777 unfortunately 🙁 sat watching it all day willing it go for an engine run down the runway…no such luck, then when it got towed over to stand it was still behind that bleeding fence! then the runway changed for the third time and i sat at 03 end till half seven hoping to catch it going out again to no avail 😡 i have to say it’s one of the best looking 777’s i’ve seen (imo)
Cheers Pieter
It had some new parts installed in both engines, when started up there was a bit of a bang and huge amount of smoke..am thinking that was expected.. it then spent an hour or so doing engine runs before being towed back over to the terminal (Just a shame that at no time was it in a good position for shooting:mad:)
Yeah, my job is driving from Scotland to all over Europe.
Thanks Jon.. i fully agree about the SATA scheme, it’s real tasty.
Thanks lads 😀
I had’nt seen a 212 in years, was a bit miffed at missing it taxiing past the crash gate for a better shot! oh well.
Cheers 😀
Aye there was one or two biz, highlight being the Angolan Govt ERJ.
TBH LIS is not a mentally busy airport for a capital city, obviously loads of TAP, and quite a few EZY’s.
Those PGA Fokker’s have seen a bit of mileage 😀
Nice nice set Robert… man this post makes me feel old, i was a young GLA spotter at the time every one of those aircraft were around!!
