Constructive criticism……….. ok………. youre a rat!!:p 😀
Getting, Air Berlin airbus, Freebird airbus and a SAS 9 too:mad: 😡
Oh aye………………good shots!
Hey Sam.
Maybe see you at DUB in the morning, weather dependant, we may likely be found in the terminal. Any of the DUB lads about tomorrow come and say hi.:D 😀 😀
let’s just hope my camera is up to the job as i only bought it last week lol:rolleyes:
The Finepix is a good wee camera, 5 MP ,is not too shabby for a snap camera.
You may find it a bit stretched for shots if you are planning on going to Plymbridge road at the crash gate, should be excellent for shots on the ramp from the fence in the car park to the left of the terminal building.
Good luck with that.
Hi Peter
First one is G-BFTT A Cessna 421C (421-0462)
The second is G-JDBC a PA34-200 Seneca 2 (34-7570150) built in 1975 !
Good shots kid.
Hi PLYM
Welcome aboard.
It’s all common sense really, 1st goldenj rule to remember is you have no divine right to be on airport property (which can extend quite far from the airport perimeter), if you read the very small print on signs around airport detailing the byelaws you will find only persons flying from/to, those collecting/ sending them off, and people on business or employment are allowed on the property, it is technically a courtesy extended to others to hang around airports, but, fear not, no police/security usually enforce these bye laws (except maybe LHR) they quote them if you are being a bit smart with them.
don’t infringe on private property without permission, Comply with requests from Police/security. Try to avoid climbing up perimeter fences (also, standing on the roof of a car parked very close to a fence gets security folk sweating!) if possible contact the police at the airport you are visiting and just make them aware you are around (lots of people phone airport police when they see a spotter/photographer loitering at a fence)
Also, be wary of what you are actually photographing… fort instance, i was taking shots of a royal flight 146, as the queen was boarding it, and found myself surrounded very quickly by cops!and was asked to delete some shots from my camera which included government security range rovers, i don’t shoot the royal flight a/c now..until any pax are well out the way.:)
Lets see those shots soon.
Excellent set there,Peter.
So many unusual stuff there, esp. the Baltic FK50, lots of nice logojets too.
Good work.
Must try to keep up:) 🙂 , a first for me, never heard that one before. Is XWB an official name addendum thingy? e.g A350-300XWB
Cheers for the replies,chaps.:D
Ok… i’ll be the numpty……….. Whats an XWB???
Not been too much change at LHR i believe in the past few years, most notable probably being the closure of the crossing between BA maint and the BMI hangar. The small industrial estate at Esher Crescent off the Eastern Perimeter Road has had all it’s roads that joined the perimeter road closed, and is now entered at the roundabout side and exit at the other end only, There is a barrier, which i have yet to see down, and, i have never had any bother in there (although i am in a marked courier van!!) this spot is great for 27R landing. For 27L you have the car park at Hatton Cross station ,or Myrtle avenue or Cain’s Lane along the A30 way.
You can see whats in from the cargo area at Shoreham Road East, all the way to the fence beside Air Canada Cargo, jump up on the wall..
For 09R there is a petrol station (closed for several years now re-opened) on the southern perimeter road past cargo at the 09R holding point. for 09L you can park on the verge on Stanwell Moor road northbound (just past the underpass for the new T5 spur road) Along the Northern perimeter road, there are various car parks that are right beside 09L/27R..probably quite pricey, also, anywhere along the Northern perimeter road is useless for shooting (but fine for just spotting) i believe the visitors centre (on Newall road i think) is now closed(??) As for the terminal 1,2,3 area ..i have no idea, i guess there are always the MSCP’s but expect to get chased and of course the Spectators Terrace closed many moons ago.
Gatwick…not so sure about… A few places i know of are Perimeter Road South (off of London Road) it runs parallel with the runway on the Southern side about 3/4 of the way down the runway. on the north side there are a few places in the cargo village that are very close to the main taxiway off Larkin road..both these places are technically for authorised vehicles only, but, again i’ve never had any bother before.. there are some other places along Charlwood Road/Lowfieldheath Road(??) which i’m sure some of the Gatwick fellas can advise you of………..
Hope that helps.
Good set there.
I park just along from where you were (other side of the wee roundabout) in a car park at the GAT when i visit, never had any bother yet… did’nt know there were any other decent shooting spots apart from there!!
Another excellent set.
Cracking detail on the EZE Jetstream.
From what i was told it is on delivery to the Israeli AF (they have ,i think, another 2 in service) and it carries it’s Israeli AF serial (544) under the cockpit.
Excellent catch Kevin.
Like the second one myself…something special about that.
Ahh… D’oh 😮 i knew that.. cheers Pieter
Cheers Pieter
Not really decent enough quality for publishing IMO, very poor lighting on the day. (wet behind the ears bit…. what is AFM?? )
