Has this quake been blamed on global warming yet? Because if it hasnt, I would like to be the first person to do that.

Given recent form in here, I’m surprised nobody’s blamed it on “immigrants” yet.

    An ominous development….. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12720219

There is a very strong British connection…..

Yes, developing the RB211 to power it almost drove Rolls Royce out of business.

I’m afraid that Some Bloke On The Internet liking an aircraft doesn’t automatically make it a candidate for preservation.

There’d be a flying Westland Wyvern if that were the case. 🙂

May one enquire as to why, you posed your question..?

I asked because you were going on about New Zealand so much on a thread about Japan.

I’ve got a daughter over in New Zealand, by the way.

Well. G.A. Even if I were Robinson Crueso, and I was living on either one of two of the Islands which compose New Zealand, with no one else,I am still a LIFE, be it one or hundreds of thousands, I feel very sorry for all of them, lets hope that the rest of the world can get their act together and help.I am afraid number crunching alters nothing.

You do know there’s been a massive earthquake off the coast of Japan today, that entire towns have been erased from the map by the resultant tsunami and that hundreds – perhaps thousands – are feared dead, don’t you?

    Just checking….

Yup, nearly 4 and a quarter million, all on an island!!

Two islands, actually. Quite large ones, with a population density of 42 per square mile in old money.

To put this into perspective, the population of Tokyo alone is approx 13m with a population density in excess of 15,000 per square mile.

This isn’t a spotters site as such, so please don’t post logs, etc.

We’d soon be swamped with them, to the utter dismay of non-spotters.

    Thanks

    Please check your PMs, i.e.

On a more general note, can we please return to the original topic of the thread?

We only really need one thread on this subject.

Let’s keep this as on-topic as possible please, gentlemen. Preferably with an occasional mention of military aviation.

Otherwise it will move to General Discussion.

    Thanks

Lance, you left out the bit about declaring yourself President and disbanding Parliament.:D

I assumed we’d all take that as read, Robbo. 🙂
