    I think you’ll find it’s N169KT, there being no N189KT current on the FAA Registry.

    N169KT is a Boeing 727-269 (22359), ex 9K-AFA. The owners are listed as Wilmington Trust Co, but they won’t be the actual operator.

    Edited to add: It seems that the aircraft is operated by Al-Futtooh Investments Corp, of Kuwait City.

    A missle was launched close to the US in international waters. It wasn’t heading torward the US mainland. Which brings up an interesting point. If it was an aircraft flying to the US then the contrail should have flown over the chopper and LA on its way to wherever it was going. The aircraft should have been picked up on ATC and its transponder would have reported its ID. We have none of that.

    Russia/China see weakness in us so IMO they did this to say “Ha! We caught you off guard and the only reason why the West Coast isn’t under a mushroom cloud is because we didn’t feel like doing that….today.”

    Somebody’s read one Tom Clancy novel too many, it seems. 😎

    If there was no 720, then it is not correct to say that every 7-series aeroplane (except the 787) was present. Nice picture, all the same.

    Not a proper 717 though…

    Only half of the required number of engines, for a start. 😉

    Regarding point 1, MSphere, I think jessmo24 was thinking in terms of the ‘new radar’ being pointed at the Wobblin’ Goblin rather than being mounted aboard it. 🙂
