Albert Speer, for instance, mentioned Hitler’s enjoyment of non-vegetarian foods like Bavarian sausages, ham, liver, and game.

I think we can safely assume that Speer shared the occasional bag of cheese and onion with his mate Adolf.

Also it is a matter of historical record that Hitler’s regime banned German vegetarian associations. Hardly the act of an authoritarian dictatorship led by a committed veggie, is it?

My wife is a vegetarian, but Hitler wasn’t.

He was rather partial to duck, in fact, and contemporary documentary sources such as diary entries from his inner circle describe him eating ham, sausages, turtle soup, caviar, etc etc.

It appears to be a US tradition.

One that doesn’t survive the journey across the Atlantic very well, IMHO.
