The judiciary although purportedly non political, appears to be markedly liberal left in their various adjudications.

Curiously, many on the left criticise judges for their inherent right-wing bias.

There you go, plain and simple.

Nothing about “criminals getting better treatment than their victims”, nary a word about “wasters/scroungers getting preference over those who contribute something worthwhile to society”, no mention at all of never being allowed to challenge or question the behaviour of malefactors.

But don’t let the facts get in the way of a good old-fashioned peeve – not that some of us ever do.

The key word that is always missing is responsibility.

Responsibilities go hand in hand with rights, and I will say that there should be a lot more emphasis placed on responsibilities.

But that’s no reason to demand that UK citizens should be denied the same rights enjoyed by everyone else in Europe.

Well, I’m sorry that you feel the need to withdraw from the thread at such an early stage.

No doubt I’ll do the same once the predictable xenophobia and neo-Neanderthal ranting kicks off.

It just strikes me as odd that people can have such strong opinions over something that they clearly know very little about.

Perhaps they don’t really want to know what it says, as that might challenge a few pre-conceptions.

    Here we go…..

Which sections of the Human Rights Act do you think say those things, Bob?

It’s one of the shortest laws on the statute books, so it shouldn’t be too hard for you to identify them.

I’ve known about the World MD11 for about a week, but the Lufty Cargo was an added bonus. 🙂

Seeing as most people have next to no idea what the Human Rights Act actually says, I can hardly wait to see some of the responses to this one.

Lance, your far too intelligent to come back with a remark like that:p

    What does that even mean?

Were you trying to give the impression that the police in the mainland UK are routinely armed, or were you not?

Have you never heard of the “Armed response” Police vehicles, they have a “GUN SAFE” in the boot, with guns and ammo, and drive on routine patrol with them until needed.

    Indeed I have.

I do hope you’re not trying to pretend that having specialised dedciated firearms units is the same thing as the routine arming of police officers?
