These are more or less the lines I was thinking along when I spoke of “earning respect” earlier today.

Anyone who makes, or has made, a positive contribution to their community or to society at large has by definition done enough to earn our respect.

If you speak to older business people and parents from overseas they will say the same “The young don’t care any more about work, the economy, business or their parents”

Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.

So what else is new, Jay?

Respect is something to be earned, not something to handed out as of right.

While we bemoan the lack of respect for a person or for an institution, we should also ask ourselves what they have done to earn and/or to retain the respect of others.

I think you’ll find that guncrime has become much worse since the banning of handguns.

Given that you’ve already told us that the law demands that legal firearms must be kept in a secure cabinet that is subject to Police inspection, I’m struggling to see how they could make any difference to “street” gun crime for good or for ill.

Lance. Tried your CCleaner, and it threw up thousands of items, then went to click on “Get rid” and it came up as $29.00 to utilise their cleaner. In your opinion, is it worth it, and exactly what does it get rid of?.
