Intentionally capturing them on camera is next to impossible, so that’s quite a rarity you’ve got there.

Not all leaders become fully-fledged lightning bolts – as the electrical “tension” between cloud and ground increases a number of these leaders are created but only one will close the circuit, as it were, and provide the path for the huge charge of the lightning bolt itself.
