Errrr – because they’d prefer to stay in business, cinciboy? 🙂

You said it, bring_it_on…… :D:D:D
The economics of supersonic mass travel just don’t deliver the profit dollars – it’s as true now as it was in the 1970s.
Boeing is NOT storing orders for the 787, and never meant to.
I’m sorry, but how would you know? 😀
How many firm orders do Boeing have on the books for the B787 now, or are they still quoting a single figure for firm orders and “commitments” lumped together?
It would make sense to phase out their MD-80’s and go with a single fleet type but only time will tell if they do that.
I agree – this order would seem to be consistent with a decision to have a single-type fleet, Whiskey Delta.
As they leave, there screen fades to black and in simple type “Thank You” appears.
Followed by the Anheuser-Busch logo.
However you care to dress it up, it’s still a Budweiser advert.

Hmmmm…… yes.
Whatever happened to the Gulfstream(?)/Sukhoi Mach 3 bizjet that everyone was getting so excited about a few years ago?
Around what time were they taken?
Between 17:30 and 19:30 (approx). I actually took another 30 or so, as the airport is quite busy on weekday evenings.
Thanks for the comments, chaps. 🙂
The Airport Hotel is ‘the pub’, Dan.
Imagine what you could do with subject matter like that, eh? 😀
Dan – before you plump for the rooftop for the evening session, have a look at the pictures I’ll be posting later on taken from the beer garden of the Airport Hotel this very evening. 😉
Always bear in mind where the sun will be.
Apart from getting your compass bearings 180 degrees out, you’re spot on Dan. :D:D:D
The terminals, AVP, APH etc are on the North side of the airfield and, therefore, facing into the sun until mid to late afternoon.
The South side (Wilag territory) is ideal for photograpy in the morning but is inaccessible by public transport and is one hell of a long walk from the terminals. 😮
How big’s that car of yours, Kev? 😉
Seems like Grey was proved wrong with that 747SP then.
In what way, LFC?
Some nice pictures there, Comet. But please tell me you saw the Air Italy B757 working for MyTravel!!!
I was going to PM you about it, but you’ve turned them off…… 🙁
Yes – and that’s the only attraction. Yes, sirree….. 😀
unless there would be loads of us going to the AVP this time.
If runways 24L/R are in use then a visit to the Airport Hotel would probably be a better bet – especially after 12, when MAN reverts to single runway ops for the afternoon.
Now there’s a real illustration of the difference in culture between the US and the UK.
Much as we love and admire our servicemen and women – and we do – a British audience would scratch their heads in bemusement at an equivalent TV ad on British TV.
And then start demanding the heads of the idiots who thought that was a fit and proper way to advertise a beer company.
Not right or wrong……… just different.
