And on what basis do you make that particular sweeping assertion?

Not all that long ago, I was in a car containing four large and suspicious-looking men that drove (purely by accident – we were searching for a very exotic Central African Republic Tu154) through an unmarked, open and unmanned gate onto the apron at Heathrow. In broad daylight, I might add.

Nobody at all noticed, and we retraced our path with alacrity. At no point were we stopped and questioned by either Police or Security.

On another occasion at Heathrow I was one of a group of spotters standing open-mouthed at the end of Cains Lane (some of you will know where I mean) while someone dashed across a busy road, climbed a double fence and made for an airliner holding for takeoff.

Several simultaneous mobile phone calls alerted the authorities and the miscreant was apprehended by Police before he could do any harm.

As I mentioned earlier, this reporter had already lied to obtain the job in the first place so how can we now rely unquestioningly on the complete veracity and accuracy of her work?

Oh, I know that Welsh is spoken in Patagonia etc.

But I had no idea there were that many overseas Welsh speakers.

    We live and learn, eh?

    2 out of 4, Kev.

BOAC(x2), East African, Gulf Air and BCAL.

OK, the BCAL machine would have been ex-BUA so that’s almost 3 out of 4, I suppose. ๐Ÿ˜€

post them in the military aviation….

Ahhh, I wish I was too young to have ever seen a VC10 or a Britannia in airline service. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I once saw 5 VC10s parked in a row at Ringway, many many moons ago, from 4 different airlines on a day when Heathrow and Gatwick were closed by fog.

    Bliss!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Since this reporter must have made untruthful statements to get the job in the first place, why should we believe that anything in the report is exactly as it seems?

The only plane registered to them is a Sikorsky.

Two aircraft, actually. Sikorsky 76, G-SMAF and Agusta 109E G-MOMO. Note the personalised registrations – Mr Fayed often uses them as personal runabouts.

Until BA announce direct international flights from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland I donโ€™t think they should be called the UKโ€™s national carrier instead they should be called English Airways

Or “London Airways”, as we tend to call them in these parts – remember that they only have one long-haul route (MAN-JFK-MAN) from a UK region. ๐Ÿ˜€

At risk of setting the cat among the pigeons, Wales isn’t a nation – it’s a principality. The flag of that principality is a red dragon on a green and white field.

Neither England, Scotland nor (parts of) Northern Ireland are nations, so no smirking at the back, there!

The national flag of Wales, like that of England, Scotland and (parts of) Northern Ireland, is the Union Flag.

Therefore, BA is the flag-carrier. Or Virgin, or bmi or whoever……..

    Hwyl am rwan.

Also I think I have an inkling as to why you and the others like to constantly have a go at me and take the Michael, and it stinks!

It’s 100% to do with the content of your postings. No other reason.

Don’t you even think about trying to smear anyone here with homophobia, xenophobia, phalacrophobia or anything else.

See, if I’d been there you wouldn’t have had to worry about the heat-haze. Flooding, yes, but definitely not heat-haze.

Some excellent pictures in there. I’ll just go away and quietly turn green…………… ๐Ÿ˜‰

It seems to me we have a lot of rather spoilt young men who like to dominate on this forum.

Ooooh! That’s personal abuse, that is.

I presume that you feel we should, instead, be grovelling in reverence, awed and thankful for your many sage pronouncements such as your pearls of wisdom on the subject of Emirates?

Please don’t hold your breath while you’re waiting.
