    Hmmmm – fair point, Ren.

I’m pretty sure that “Caledonian” operated all 3 types under their own AOC, though.

Does anyone out there know for sure?

I understand that VIP aircraft almost always have excellent soundproofing.

Man United used a 727 as their transport on their recent US tour. 😀

The interior is much more important than the exterior or even the age of the airframe where VIP aircraft are concerned. After all, the punters don’t sit on the wings, do they? 😉

    Good heavens above!!!! 😮

Still, give them credit for providing employment opportunities for blind aircraft painters. 😀

Oh! Is the Aeropark still there, then? 🙂

    I thought it had closed.

Ah right, I bet if BAA would have taken over, EMA would have had no spotter facilities!

Far be it from me to defend an anti-competitive cartel like BAA, but am I right in thinking that EMA has no official spotting facilities?

That may very well be true, LBARULES, but the splendid shop at EMA has been there since long, long, before MAPLC took the place over.

There’s no way on earth that Italy can do this without exposing Alitalia and other Italian companies to punitive sanctions from the EU and WTO.

Birmingham still has a quite comprehensive aviation shop, and I know that there used to be a good one at EMA, too.

    Is it still there?

Eastern for sure, Pablo – they owned and operated all three types at various times, as Whiskey Delta‘s pictures prove.

I think Iberia are disqualifed for the same reason (wet-lease, this time from Air Atlanta) that I wouldn’t allow Air France or Saudia, though.

Did Canadian ever operate the Tristar, Dantheman?

    Not impressed, NCLRULES? 😀

It stretches from the white buildings on the left across to the car-park on the right and beyond, and includes the 146, Concorde and DC10 nose.

Bearing in mind the other official viewing area on the top of Terminal 1 car-park (my own favoured haunt), I have to ask you where you’d find more impressive facilities in the whole of the UK than at MAN.

    Not yet, NCLRULES.

I’ll be sounding you out for local knowledge of viewing places etc when I have, don’t you worry! 🙂

    Ooooohhh – you’re persuasive.

But no, I’m not letting you have it.

There definitely IS one more, though.
