Well, I’m not talking about Thomas Cook – unless they’ve radically altered their fleet overnight.

They ordered the A321s just to annoy Sandy……….. 😉

I don’t recall Ryanair ever operating a lot of flights from BHX.

Also, to be frank, “too dear” increasingly seems to translate as “not free” when the phrase is associated with airports that Ryanair serves.

Calling someone childish on an open forum is bad form! As is any form of personal insult for that matter.

Would calling someone an “old eejit” be bad form or a personal insult, Sandy?

    Glass houses, stones, etc…………. 😎

To return to the topic – airlines are businesses and must (normally) make a profit to survive. To do this, they need the right product and the right tools.

The executives of those businesses decide which tools are best suited to their needs – some businesses will buy from supplier A, others from supplier B, still others will mix and match products from both.

I would respectfully suggest to some of our more “partisan” colleagues on the forum that those executives probably know just a little bit more about their own business than we punters do and that none of them would buy a duff tool from any manufacturer.

I’m not so sure about this.

Anybody on here know the person who wrote the article, or anyone else on that flight?

Do we really think that the US Government would have had nothing to say about 14(!) Syrian passport-holders acting in such a frightening and blatantly suspicious manner, and that they wouldn’t be milking it – right now – for all the political capital it was worth?

Do we really think that none of the other passengers would have spoken to the press or TV news about their ordeal, or even sued the airline, the TSA, the FAA and everyone else up to and including Father Christmas?

    Really?

Something just doesn’t add up here.

    Sniff sniff….. oh yes… I smell bullsh*t

    Yep!

There again, you are quoting John Leahy, the (American) head of Airbus’s commercial arm. What sort of thing do you expect him to say? He’s a salesman for pity’s sake!

Do you imagine for a moment that Boeing or even Embraer sales executives are any more objective when it comes to discussing the opposition? 😀

Is Iberia using the 321 to BCN and MAD now that the Air Nostrum CRJ flights have ceased?

Ah – as is so often the case it’s not quite as simple as that!!

My understanding is that the A321 will be used where combined ticket sales to/from Barcelona and Madrid exceed the capacity of their A320s.

The usual equipment for the route will be the A320, I’m afraid – as was the case yesterday, for instance.

Some of us who are more mature in years will remember the days when Iberia served the Barcelona/Madrid route ex MAN with DC9-32s. 😎

And Ryanair don’t have any 767s, either!

4 PIA and 2 Air Malta lucky you!!!

Well, 4 PIA aircraft on the ground isn’t all that rare and 2 Air Maltas is commonplace as A320 9H-ADY is semi-based at Ringway operating the old Azzura services.

What was unusual, however, was having all 3 PIA B777s parked on T2 at once. I certainly can’t remember seeing it before.

Thanks for the positive comments. 🙂

I remember a Laker Airways B707 doing a quite literally hair-raising display at a Biggin Hill Airshow during the 1970s.

No, that’s the side of success – the face would be at the front.

Come on now, it’s only a (somewhat garish) paint job – not the Second Coming!
