Right, the FCA, if it was FCA I cant quite remember, began to accelerate down the runway, from the very beginning of the runway. The police plane taxiied onto the runway about half way up, and was following the FCA up the runway. When the police plane got onto the runway, the FCA was past the police plane, almost ready for ‘rotate’. The police plane, as I said was airborne very quickly being a small prop and all. Once airborne, the police plane turned right over the AVP, while the FCA plane took off as normal.
There was a decent distance of runway between the 2 aircraft at all times.
I will try and get it confirmed if you are still unsure, but I can assure you, there were 2 planes on the runway at the same time, taking off.
No, definately the same runway. The police plane was airborne very quickly, and there was about half the length of the runway between it and the other commercial aircraft. The police aircraft turned almost immedialtely after becoming airborne, over the AVP.
Cheers.
I saw 2 aircraft take off on the same runway at the same time at MAN on June 5. The police plane took off at exactly the same time as a FCA 757 I think it was. The police plane made a sharp right turn and flew off in that direction.
Sorry to hear about your lesson. Enjoyable it was, ’til the rain came down.
Cheers Mark, I had no idea BA used 757’s so often. Any idea what time they use them on Wednesday and Thursday?
Cheers
Johnny
cheers.
And finally, just before the rain started bouncing, this took off. Hapag Lloyd Express 737-500.
I saw an EasyJet 737 perform a go-around just as I got there, second time round though it landed safely. This is the same aircraft departing Rwy07, about 45 minutes later.
Also, an Excel 737-800 G-XLAC and
Spanair MD83.
Unfortunately, 07 was in use today, so the aircraft were very high by the time they got to where I was, had they been landing next to me they would be lower. I used all the zoom I have and they still look high, but never mind. Here they are.
Had a nasty breakfast on my BA flight back from New York to MAN last year. A banana flavoured muffin yuk!, amongst other slightly more pleasent things.
They may have rushed into things as you say Dusseldwarf, what with the sizeable MME base and all. They should have fully established themselves at one airport before basing aircraft at others, especially when their routes were not guarenteed success, like at airports such as MME etc.
I’m sure they will sort it out though, and the Teesside base seems to be panning out well for bmibaby now, just the odd route, namely Belfast, which seems to be lacking a little in demand for 737 aircraft.
Them photo editor softwares you can get I think may help you get rid of grain. I have got one but I havent got a clue how to use it! Thats why my pics I post here are so damned small.
Cheers Ren.
What exactly is the point of digital zoom, cos I fail to see a purpose for it?
Oh, OK, I see how you meant it now. Its hard to tell how exactly someone is trying to say something when you are just reading it, as I’m sure you will know.
The fuzzyness is no a big problem, you got the whole plane in the shot, thats what counts.
