I seem to remember a thread some while back that mentioned that the shack is destined for the chop in order to make it smaller in order to display only parts of it in the new hanger one exhibit.
how many other out side exhibits will follow this route ??????
with regards to the props on the parade square one was a gannet prop but the other is a good shack prop and has laid there for several years:mad:
I remember well spending 3 hours as a waist gunner at 6000 ft
doing some formation filming along with the rest of the B17`s and mustang escort.
but the thing that sticks in my mind most was how cold it was and thinking how bad it must have been for the gunners at operational height and having to try and stay alert.
when asked for his opinion on the use of tactics
beckham replied
” oh I like them they make my breath smell better “

with regards to the aircraft
L1414 was used by 62 squadron who deployed to singapore in september 1939.
the aircraft was shot down by fighters after being sent to attack landing craft 01 jan 1942 Flt.Lt. N Lancaster and crew were K.I.A.
the answer is yes
the new company is set as a trust purely to repair and operate the blenheim.
grahams decision to give up ownership was not taken lightly but in view of a looming repair bill it was by mutual agreement that setting up a new company to run the aircraft was the best option to see the blenheim returned to the air in the shortest time scale. graham is still very much part of the team. And will from his position on the comittee of the blenheim society continue to help keep the rebuild on track.
the stock answer is
may
may be this year or may be next

I also seem to remember some Fireflies stuck in Ethopia, in varying degrees of disrepair, I think.
add sweden to the firefly list
the answer is the DH Chipmunk
while in military service the major engine installed in the chippy was designated the 8 but for some strange reason when civilianised the CAA redesignate it as the 10-2
I must agree with Mark 12 I find it strange that as the flaps are linked through the fuselage by a substantial torque tube operated by a single air ram how did you manage to get
assymetric flap.
mark 12`s shot of the hunter reminds me of seeb on the afternoon of the 1980 national day. after the 22 hunters did the formation over muscat they returned and bounced seeb from all compass points…………. two minutes of awesome flying:D 😀
PS915 was delivered to duxford today and the chippy collected pilot to return to barkston heath
if i understand this correctly you beleive the upstanding uk press are seeking to join the warbird scene by buying up un-wanted jets. …………. when you can go to former soviat block countries and purchase L39 jets for a fraction of the price you would pay here it does sound a bit odd………….
mind you i dont believe there is much demand for ME108 taifun`s
simon………:p :p
how is the old girl?????????????
