I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere, Charlie, but I guest that a privy joke about the royal member is a treasonable offence.
Absolutely stunning Brian, as usual.
Ah yes Ozplane I understood what was going on, not specifically the stud, but Mr. Hi Viz started the job on his own which is the bit you left out and was joined later, which is exactly what I said. It was purely an observation and as I said rather him than me which was my only point. Is there a problem stopping and restarting the engine?
And we moan about “freeloaders” in the naughty field 😀
I thought you said they didn’t see the show. So how were they freeloaders?
To avoid any doubt, your majesty, I am a royalist I mean who would want some ageing politician as president. 😀
There are SVAC members on the forum and know doubt they are rushing to their filing systems as we speak to find your missive, but there are a lot of waste paper bins to go through.:D
I thought I was addressing your problem as to why you may still receive a reply from Shuttleworth.
Thanks Charlie and Alan.
She who must be obeyed has been very supportive so I am very lucky. She is even getting the photo bug but gets distressed with the number of failures which is just part of life when trying to photograph fast moving objects, oh and of course she usually, but not always, has the B camera. She seems to have a natural eye for composition and sees the “good” shots.
Hopefully get onto the, now what is that ‘plane called, this afternoon but there were rather a lot of them, and, of course, Signor Balbo will be along but it is very difficult to do him justice, it is one of those things, like the display that follows, that just has to be seen in person. It has to be the closest thing to a 40’s sky over Kent that we will ever see.
And then, of course, there are the people that made all this possible, so a bit of a tribute to them.
Bought a number of older tomes, each for a £1, as I love browsing through them especially for the old pictures. I haven’t had a chance to look at them yet but one was on the principles of flight probably written in the 30’s so that should be interesting.
Already agreed to baby sit that weekend, there is Leeds but have got to stop sometime.:D Coventry are having a night shoot Venom start fairly soon and we hope to get along to that before it’s too late.
They have had a very busy week with taking and bringing back exhibits at an adjacent three day Steam show over the weekend and putting up the Sea Hurricane for DX show. I was expecting it to be quiet there yesterday but there were several coach loads of visitors having guided tours.
Good morning Charlie. Not so happy with the spotter book as when we looked for Vampire we found that the last two pages of the index were missing! Then we looked at the date it was published and found it to be 1942 we will take it back next air show to get our £1 back.:D
Sadly our binge is over and moving on to relatives in Bromley. Unfortunately although we did get to OW yesterday and had an excellent lunch it was a straw too much for me and the dreaded CF claimed me for the rest of the day so we still haven’t got any further than hanger 3.
Regrettably we cannot make OW on the 4th, which at the moment is the last display for the Vulcan, as it is my daughter’s birthday and family comes first!
Thanks Mike I will correct that. Must do my homework better I was expecting shrouds over the wheels on fixed undercarriage. Sloppy. 😀
There are, of course, plenty of Chinooks in the States but my friend from America said he had never seen one displayed like this!
Our ninth viewing of this display this year.
The next section was entitled Evolving Tactics.
The Yale on Friday.
On Friday there were 4 Harvards about.
Nothing like filling your passenger full of confidence with a few backfires when starting.
As we couldn’t hear the commentator,:highly_amused:, we do not know why the Yale did not fly but assume U/S.
Three of the Harvards took part in the display.
