Thanks for that Alastair. It is much appreciated. The only other way for me is to set up a trial lesson in my area specifically for the photographs.
So here is the answer. All the cards the second time around are different from the first lot but equal. So if you saw a red queen say a heart it would still be a red queen but a diamond and so on.
Always works no matter which card you pick.

I was going to say exactly the same thing. Even when you quickly pass under a bridge, you briefly lose your radio signal. As for Mr. Stupid here.. I’ve attempted my Theory Test twice and failed!! Scoring 29 both times!!
thats pretty good as we have 5 people driving at my work and each scored 24 25 26 29 and me I am the only one with a pass mark of 30 which was laid out on the cd. Just how well I would do in the real exam I dont know but hey it was a pass first time and well we have all been driving for 13 years +.
dont be too hard on yourself it will come.

DoneBut not sure how much a signature from Jersey will add weight, good luck.
It should do as a lot of people from up north namely me and a few hundred other jocks petitioned about the Hooton Park development and it seemed to have made a difference and we all got the same letters that you lot down south did.
I know from experiance that the RAF museum may not hold the FAA maps but it is worth a try perhaps they do have one. The maps from the RAF museum for RAF airfields are very detailed and have almost every building listed but the maps from the PRO don not. Also if you want to see a plan of a particular building then the RAF museum also hold a copy of the building plans which the PRO do not. Just give them the ref number on the airfield map for a building and they will send you a building layout plan if they have it.
FAA airfields in my experiance are more difficult to get a map but not impossible. I got one for a FAA airfield and while not as highly detailed it had what the main buildings use were and a few other details. It has since become known that there is a maze of underground tunnels and conduit piping which a local group hold the plans for. Contact local groups and perhaps the Airfield Research Group as they might be able to point you in the right direction for your research.
Another one done.

Not really my family but my Wifes. Her Aunt Mary Thorpe was a WAAF during the war and part of her duties included being taken to, what could be described as, an aircraft scrap yard and remove the radios and other equipment to be used in the Lancs that were on the airfield. At least that is what the family story is anyway. She recalled being driven by an airforce man out to a parked lot of aircraft for her duties that day to remove items and were supposed to be picked up around 4 pm as it was starting to get dark at that time but no one arrived so they had to stay there until someone did go for them. It was around 9 – 10 oclock when someone remembered about them and did finally collect them.
She also wrote a diary and a book that was never published and also visited Berlin and took some part in the after conflict organisation.
Would love to know more but she has passed on now and we dont have any contact with that side of the family and dont even know where they are.
I think a lot of family stories are lost this way.
From what I remember last time I heard anything from Crail I notice that there was a message sayingthat the naval typed tower was to be restored and developed into some kind of museum. Does anyone have any more on this one.
Also anyone know what will happen with the tower at Edinburgh airport / Turnhouse when the new one is supposed to be getting built.
I know that the tower at East Fortune went derelict but as the museum airshows became popular they restored it so it was wind and water proof. Still a bit of a mess really but then it isnt really used apart from once or twice a year so I guess they see it as wind and water proof is good enough.

Scott,Can I ask what the hangar displays consisted of this year? The last time I was there they were pretty much all various sections of RAF Leuchars, rather than the various local clubs and societies like the display used to be. I’d much rather go and see a display from Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum, for example, than one by the Fire Section of Leuchars, and this change a few years ago was one of the reasons for me not going back. I’d be interested to know if this is still the case – your photos make it look as though the indoor exhibition was a bit more interesting this year!
Well what I remember about the hangar was :-
Part of a hangar was showing various pieces of stripped down tornado as part of the Leuchars technical side.
In the other hangar there was The robot wars Typhoon team display. Next to it the Eurofighter display. After that there was a simulator much like the link trainer but smaller. Next I think there was a car display for some local garage ????? Cant remember but there was a display. Further up the hangar there was a book and model stall selling stuff. Could have been Montrose air Museum as I recognised some of the stuff. There were a few aircraft up the top end if I remember. Then another model stall but also more model kit not for sale but as a display of older kits available. Next to that there was the car , truck and a few other bits and pieces. And after all that there was a cutaway Merlin and East Fortunes display which was a couple of staff sitting there. Then the planes mentioned Se5a and Tiger Moth.
Have I missed anything folks.??
