Guys,
a bit of a funny question really but is there any kind of membership into a club for guys that have had to use an ejector seat and survived.
Along the lines of the caterpillar club etc.
Just curious and get well soon to the pilot.
Everton_1878
I am sure Philo and the others meant nothing personal by why they said but rather they were finding it a little difficult understanding how someone could post how they didnt see an aircraft perform after wistnessing such a tragic event. As I said I am sure they didnt mean anything nasty by it.
To all the others. I understand where Everton_1878 was coming from and he really wasnt moaning about not seeing aircraft just pointing out that he didnt see the other aircraft perform.
I wouldnt like to see anyone not go to an airshow just because an accident happend but I do understand that it can be alltogether too much for some people to take so we must respect their feeling and let them decide. Other then that I think Kev put it perfectly.
As always Kev.
Thanks David and Alexis.
I have little understanding of the legal / technical side of things thats why I was asking about the ejection systems and thanks David you cleared that up for me. I also agree that if the aircraft has an eject system that it should be functional.
Anyone know who owns the Hunter and any other details etc.
How often do private owned jets have live ejector seats. I thought there was some rule that meant only military jets were allowed to have them.
Not that I am trying to say that this guy shouldnt have had one I am just interested. I am glad this aircraft was fitted with a live seat and that he is ok. Personally I think if the aircraft was meant to have an ejector seat then that is for a reason and they should always have one fitted.
Regards Merlin
Thanks for the support guys.

I know it might not matter to some of you but at least sign one petition for a country that only has 2 airshows a year when south of the border there are many to choose from.
Hi guys,
Not in the same class as the warbirds but there is a Starduster and Pitts aerobatic ship gives us an aerobatics display on Sunday if they happen to be up. This started as I talked to the pilot of the Starduster about his flypast over our Radio Controlled model site. He hoped he hadnt disturbed us and was slightly worried that we had been offended by his flypast. We now live quite happily together as when we see the big birds (and not so big birds) over head we all land our models and enjoy the real aerobatic display.
SMOKE ON!

Aha one of the better kits then I see.
Someone at our club had the Black horse cub and it would roll and turn on take off. Not very nice at all until it was in the air but the Flair cub is one of the best ones out there other than a handmade one.
Alastair,
Do you know which cub model it is. Ie Flair models or Black horse or some other kit manufacturer.
And You would be made welcome at our club at Drem.
More space there than EF and you can make as much noise as you like with your plane.
At our club you get 2 free days before you have to choose if you want to join. By this time you would know if you wanted to join or not.
Regards
***Scott , this has gotten out of hand slightly , but hey DONT call me an IT professional .I’m an Electrical/Electronic Engineer to trade***
Hi Alastair,
I only took a guess about what your job was so with being online IT seemed the best option.
And if I could ride a bike I would take you up on that offer.
Cheers
Hi guys,
Look I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one as we all have different opinions about what should be at airshows.
So if we can find a solution thats about down the middle then we should all be happy.
And thats all I have to say. I wont post on this topic again as we could go on forever about the same stuff.
Cheers

Hi Yak fan. The Scots have been fighting amongst themselves for years but me and Alastair have a difference of opinion. Hardly enough for us to start a fight over.

If you don’t ask you have no comeback , get a receipt with a statement of your purchase and its condition at time of purchase
Point taken Fair enough but as I said before most stuff I buy is form Dealers at shows.

I do a pretty good 35-45 WPM but I can still type and spell at the same time , I need to I’m paid to be online.***
Well thats good for you and as an IT professional thats the kind of service we would expect from you. Unfortunately I am not an IT pro so I probably dont do so well as you.
***Nothing much is of any concern to you , I had you down as a pretty intelligent guy , unfortunately I misjudged this , sorry .***
Just because we have a difference of opinion. It doesnt have anything to do with Intelligance. If you think you may have misjudged me then thats fine but I was only expressing my opinion on something I care about.
***You don’t need to worry about my family , they won’t fit on the back of my Yamaha , the wife can run the kids around in her own car/SUV.***
Actually Alastair Take this comment seriously I wouldnt want you to go getting killed or anything. We may have our differences of opinion but I dont wish anything nasty to happen to you or your family
***See you at East Fortune .***
You most certainly will.

****Merlin , stop being an ass , I have heard of show prices , have you heard of warranties or product liability – try getting your cash back from a Market Trader when you’ve bought a fake print or a dud camera , I too collect aviation prints – I’ve never seen one at an airshow cheaper than I can purchase from a reputable dealer / studio – that way I can choose my frame and have it titled if need be , try buying a decent remarque or signed print at a market ****
Warranties and Product liability on second hand goods are you sure?
All the stalls I have bought stuff from have been from Dealers who usaully are on the net or in the phone book and I usaully get a card form them just incase I want something before the next show and then I can always phone them.
Wouldnt buy a fake print or a camera at all at a show or a market.
Only buy second hand stuff.
If you go to the East Fortune market most of the traders have been there for years and have no problem in you bringing stuff back for refund or exchange. We have many times.
And for you folk who dont know East Fortune too well there is a Sunday Market all year and not actually at the airshow which are ordinary airshow stalls
