Not at all – I understand exactly and referred to the fact that it was her second transplant in a previous post, if you care to refer back. We disagree on whether or not she “deserves” a second transplant, the topic of the thread. And I doubt we are unlikely to find any common ground considering the strength of your feelings on the matter expressed both to me and to Bumblebee.

Blue – yes, we’ll agree to differ and Paul, our posts keep overlapping but I think we have taken it about as far as it will go.

How on Earth is this splitting hairs? She screwed her first and second chances up; many people die before even getting a second chance. I have absolutely no idea how you can possibly say this is splitting hairs. No idea at all.
Paul
If you don’t see the difference, which I see clearly I am unlikely to convice you so we had better agree to disagree on this point. I do not view our births as a chance of life, as you and Blue do. Two people decide to procreate and a child is born. It is not a chance of life. It is a life. And in various circumstances that life might get the chance to be extended, maybe once, maybe twice or more. She screwed up her life, not her first chance.

And, Blue, I think my response to Paul also answers your first sentence. I just don’t count our births as a “strike” to be viewed in the same way as a transplant to extend that life.

With respect, Paul, I think that is splitting hairs. She, like all of us, was born, and I don’t think any of us regard that as our “first chance of life”, do we? So she had a transplant which gave her a chance of extending her life. The argument is about her second chance of extending her life.
