Are you counting me as a doomsayer sir?
I don’t think I know you, good sir! But I’m sure you are not.;)
I suppose for those who are really angry with the current management, and there are a few, they will try to find fault with anything emanating from Pleming and his team. I am just delighted that the great beast will fly this Summer and I hope to see her.:)
Having made my first visit there last week, after many years, I would go back again and again. It is one of the best air museums I have visited and it would make no difference whether there was flying or not.
A very moving, perfectly judged tribute to a fine, highly respected and sorely missed aviator.
………..alternatively we could get back to high probability of seeing XH558 in the air again in May.:D
Thanks a lot, but no knowledge of the 96?:)
You betcha…..I can practically see Eastbourne! But, in reality, I will make my pilgrimmages to a few UK shows and hope to be luckier than I was last year.:)
The 124, which I am more likely to get there for, but the 96 as well – just in case……….:)
you must have good binoculars in france :diablo:
Top of the range.:D
Anyone know the timings?
There is nothing like this forum to bring back memories from years past. I remember the Seamew so well and saw it at Farnborough in, perhaps, 1953/4. And certainly nothing to do with the Gannet, which I always rather liked and enjoyed seeing again at Duxford the other week.
From what we read it appears that the BBC is finally listening to its critics and has decided to scrap a couple of radio stations and some of its website to provide cash fior quality programming. Anyone out there got any decent aviation-based series up their sleeves? A bit more cutting back on rubbish and waste and we could have even more!
A source of mine who seems to be in the know of arrivals at Manston, told me today that on Thursday, a IL-96 cargo is coming in. Its apparently one of only 5 special heavy lift cargo variants in existence, and its coming in to pick up something big and they are bringing their own crew in to move whatever it is, with Manston’s staff not being allowed to touch it, so there is some degree of secrecy surrounding it. I’ve also been told its carrying “CCCP” markings, so its most likely going to be an Aeroflot jet.
Anybody else heard anything about this?
Does “your source” know the timings?
Oh, dear – this is really addictive! Thanks!:p
Well that requires no further comment, does it??:diablo: Have a great show.:D
