It’s always been blindingly obvious why the Liberals want PR and the others do not. I wonder if any of the the three main parties has realised that under PR the BNP would have about 30 seats at Westminster. Now that really is democracy!

Never heard of a Schengen Visa. Any EU citizen can travel freely with ID throughout the EU.It is no more complicated than that.

I don’t see the irony, unless you find it ironic that a politician might have died whilst campaigning. That would not fit my definition of the word.:(

I simply asked a question and your reply makes an assumption which might be valid or not. I wouldn’t know. Do you?

That’s a bummer, but if it’s any consolation the tried hydrocortisone plus local anaesthetic jabs helped me considerably, to the extent that I rarely have any tendonitis in the elbow at all. It is not thoroughly tested and many people have only limited relief, but if it is suggested it has to be worth a try. Good luck.:)

Sounds as though retrieval is a very long shot. Are there examples of “black boxes” being recovered in exceptionally difficult circumstances?

My view is that it is irrelevant whether we agree or not with any war to which the Parliament of the day has committed us.

We should at all times give our total support and succour to the troops involved. They have volunteered to do a job in the full knowledge that they will be required to fight a war. That is what being a soldier, sailor or airman implies.

It saddens me that with the loss of a “common” enemy during the Cold War the populace no longer perceives the defence of our country in the widest context as important or significant, whereas it is in fact one of any government’s prime responsibilities to its citizens. None of the political parties appears to defer greatly from this position. And our committed and loyal servicemen will suffer as a result.
