(Duxfords crowds usually average about 18-19000.)
I think it has been lower than that in the last few years. Don’t get me wrong I love seeing the based aircraft, I am privilaged to see them very often, a chance many people would love. I just feel that some operators are neglected and are struggling to keep aircraft we would love to see in the air. i thought this year at Duxford would be different, but it seems to be three more same old airshows with Legends in the middle. Come on Duxford, prove me wrong please.
I just wish that they would look at the whole airshow circuit and see what there is out there. I know that they have alot of based aircraft and is great to see them. Yet I have seen the crowds dwindle over the years and if we are not careful it will result in less shows and less money, eventually we won’t beable to hold them. We have a stronger historic aircraft scene then in many countries and we need to support EVERYONE in it. Many companies just arent getting bookings and if this happens we will see a rapid decline of types. All I ask is that the organisers at Duxford obviously support the companies that they have based but also bring in a few different ones each airshow. Give the others some much needed funds to keep their planes in the air and we can hope the large crowds return.
Legends as ever is a great display… do not change a thing!
Tucano, Hawk, Harrier GR7, Tonka f-3, Hurcules, Nimrod, BBMF S+H, Swordfish, storch, Piper Cubs, B-17, Grace Spit, P-51 x ?, P-47, Wildcat, Spitfires x ?, Wildcat, Messenger, RAF GSA Team. info from UKAR
Two Wildcat’s? Didn’t know they had one airworthy. Don’t you feel a little cheated that they bring all this RAF stuff in on a cheap rate rather than going out and looking for different aircraft. You pay a lot of money to go to these shows and all they do is hit redial on their phone. I feel lucky everytime I see anything fly, but come on guys put some effort in.
And it did!!
Indeed although Snapper tells me they are behind the times with those. Maybe road kill platter should be attempted, I have been typing far to much today, I need FOOD!

Did it look like a ferret had grabbed her nose, or was it in fact, a ferret on the end of her nose and that she was taking it for a breath of freash air.
Well i have found usually alot of talking about aircraft is done round women and alot of talking about women is done round aircraft. Funny old world
No, thats why chicken crossed the road and for the Coco Pops.
