We took a 172, we had tried earlier in teh month in a 150 but the weather had not been good and without VOR’s etc it was a wise choice to turn round.

In the end it was so clear the 150 would of been ok, but always more p[ayload in a 172 😀

Depends how high the cliff is…

Sorry, i would think not without a complete rebuild again. as with most aircraft on the IWm’s books, when they are restored it is to a very high standard but in order to get them to fly, they would require a complete strip down and rebuild, conservation or the original parts or change them to fly it, taht is what it is down to at teh end of teh day. IWM preserve the original parts.

There is no way the Vulcan can be worth what they are spending on it to get it to fly again!

Where do you draw the line?

Nothing can be classed as ‘I don’t think it will ever fly again’. We have rebuilt from a lot less than a complete airframe.

Thanks Chris, I think they are going down Wanaka way next week. I was meant to be there this week and next, oh well.

I thought I would post just so you feel like you are not jinxed.

I have been on a few forums but I find there are alot more friendly and meaningful discussions on here, as well as a lot of people who have a vast array of knowledge that puts me in the shade.

Where are they basing the Corsair? All my family are in New Zealand, so they would love to pop and see her.
