    Deelen Airfield National Monument

    Believe there is a really good museum there as well.
    Have always been interested in Deelen as there is a memorial here just outside Edinburgh to the memory of 4 German airmen who were killed when there JU88 (from 4/KG6),crashed into a hill side,they set out from Deelen on the evening of the 24th March 1943.

    Plenty still going on , 2 of the most recent being the Mustang near Bellingham in Northumberland and the Lancaster up Loch Lomond way.
    Both can be found on this site if you search hard enough.

    3..Recollections Of Wartime Experiences by Squadron Leader Bryan Colston D.F.C.
    Suspect the last one has not been written yet but having received a copy of his memoirs, they would make a fantastic read.

    Should have added that chaps name is F/S K.R.Kettlewell, camps interred in were L3/L6/357, POW No 425.
