    Hey,there’s nothing stupid about cherishing teddy bears ! I’d go straight for the compass set in a piece of polished serpentine that belonged to my Cornish Grandad.It’s about the first object I can remember and used to sit on the whatnot in my grandparents’ front room.( Anyone still got a whatnot ? )

    The 8 year old who offered me a lift on his crossbar when my umbrella blew inside out,the other 8 year old who made a fantastic Lego aeroplane,explained aerodynamics to me and said he was going to be a pilot,and the 14 year old who borrowed my MP3 player because some of the tracks weren’t bad for an old bird.Kids are amazing.If only we could stay as joyful and uncomplicated all our lives .

    You’re right – I help run a couple of kids’ clubs and the 5 – 9 year olds never said please or thank you.It took me a whole term’s constant repetition before the little b—–s would say them automatically.Guess Mum or Dad ( if he’s even around ) never used the words at home.

    Foreplay=are you awake???

    And if that’s the normal state of affairs,this leads us neatly to the conclusion that THAT’S why Australian women are bad-tempered and ill-behaved.

    Nothing lasts forever – enjoy what you’ve got while you can

    How right you are.That’s why I’m so glad I got my bus pass and my first ever tatoo on the same day.You’re a long time dead,after all .

    I agree it’s absolutely morally indefensible.You have to wonder at the mentality of the people who deliberately made the conditions for UK residence so narrow that it would be impossible for the majority of Gurkhas to attain.Don’t people have a conscience any more ? I couldn’t live with myself if I went along with that sort of conniving .

    To get back to the point -it’s not only women today who are rude.Why have good manners become so unusual ?
