As for being complete idiots,I couldn’t believe it when I filled in the US immigration form for a 2 hour stopover in LA airport last year.One of the questions was more or less ” Have you ever been a terrorist ? “I’d have loved to have given a creative answer,but the US immigration department seems to have had a corporate sense of humour by-pass.
