Being old enough to remember the day when the **** word was first said on TV ( by Kenneth Tynan in 1965 ),I’m not surprised that most younger people aren’t bothered about comedians swearing.
I must say that I don’t like it and I think it shows a lack of respect for the audience and yourself too.
Recently in the snow I saw a young couple out with two little girls about four years old.The girls were throwing snowballs and one hit Dad on the back of the leg,so he turned round and said ” **** off,you two “.Pass a group of schoolchildren and you’ll hear the sort of language that would have made a sailor blush when I was a kid.I don’t call that progress.
It doesn’t have to be like this.In three weeks in New Zealand I only heard that word twice, once from a drunk in a bar and once when Mr.Bee tried lifting my bag after I’d packed to come home.We saw plenty of teenagers, but heard very little bad language from them.
It’s probably too obvious to say,but it’s perfectly possible to be very funny without swearing at all.Michael McIntyre is a good example.

    So unworldly – Bless !!

You might want to avert your eyes if you’re of a sensitive disposition.

Why do Britons add ‘yeah’ to everything they say..hi my name’s John ‘yeah’..i come from London ‘yeah’..i’ve just been to a concert ‘yeah’..or is it just a cockney thing..young Jamie Oliver is the worst culprit

It’s supposed to be a sign of lack of confidence,as though you constantly have to check that your listener agrees with you.
Listen to David Beckham being interviewed and he often inserts the phrase ” you know ? ” every few words. Drives me nuts.

I can understand your longing to free your father from his suffering and admire the fact that you felt able to do so,if it were possible.
Even if I was in the state my Mum is in now, completely helpless and wishing to die,I still don’t think I’d be asking for someone to kill me.
Of course this is all speculation,if it did actually come to that I might change my tune.
Feel free to trespass on my privacy at any time young man,I’m pretty easy-going.
