So those seating at Dassualt do not understand this? IAF has simply no choice but to buy Mirages. and if Euro keep rising like this even that will be out of question. there is no 40 LCA order in existance.

From where you get all this information? which are all inaccurate. Just like your PIA SAAB-2000 prediction a few months ago. Gripen arrival or not is not disclosed and PAF wants it this way. and you must be reading old novels about SAAB-340 which is not 360 degree.

I have already declared LCA “Something” . No need to repeat it.

I thought that the FC-1 was Chinese tech? 🙂

We recently heard news reports talking about a Chinese radar being fitted to the fc-1, a smaller version of the j-10 radar has been mentioned. One wonders why an aircraft that a few months ago, was taunted as having such a big nose, would not get the same j-10 sized radar? Am I the only one who finds this confusing, why would u want to get a less capable radar if you can fit the original and more capable radar in the nose?

China is wayy off the plasma stealth field.

Do you know the size of J-10 nose that you are predicting FC-1 nose from that radar. FC-1 may take 700MM antenna while J-10 may take 800MM. it is still bigger than 600MM of Gripen/M2K.

Stealth? Sextuplet FBW? 2 yrs and JF-17 without a confirmed engine fit, glass cockpit, radar, avionics, EW will be better than F-16I?
Anybody want to add more to this, perhaps with a link to confirmed articles please? Seems if you BS hard enough they might be a few folk to lap this up in glee…well not suprising some have already claimed it to be better than the MKI.

For one its disappointing the Tejas has so much open sourced info thats available and updated almost daily…otherwise we’d be hereing any sort of fit into an aircraft thats possible to make it vaguely comparable to the thundaaar!

It all depends upon credibilty. FC-1/JF-17 does not need official website for progress or achievements. Only some nonsense require daily information to keep the interest of prospects.

According to Flight International and Janes, it looks like F-16 C/Ds, Block 52 or 60, PAF want 18-25 folloed by another 60

If this goes ahead, along with JF-17this can mean immediate replacement of mirages and F-7s

Giving Pakistan a potential fleet of

    80 F-16C/Ds
    32 F-16s A/Bs (MLU?)
    200 JF-17s

This, coupled with 7 Erieye and 10 P-3Cs

will give us the AEW, SIGINT and air defence force which should be able to handle any threat in our neihbourhood, especially if AMRAAM is released for F-16s and SD-10 is available for JF-17

IF its C/D version than it is most probably Block 52+. Block 60 is called E/F and it is beyond the means of either US AID or PAF pocket. AIM-120C5 is great equalizer between the two versions.

that F-16 arrival will sent the right political message across the border. I am all for it. i personally want to see that Gripen with Meteor for PAF. ERIEYE will need to see atleast 400KM on the other side from 100kM inside.

    Two steps in what aspects??

In every respect. Considering Block60 has defeated Rafale F3 for UAE choices. F-16Block60, Rafale and EF are the only viable options. M2K is yesterday technology. Gripen is although modern but too light weight for strike. MIG-29 is not even worth talking about. IAF should only go for F-16blk60 with 36,000LBS engines, 9000KG weopon load and CFT. that will give it more capablity than Flanker MKI. Advance digital spread spectrum EW, Fibre optics and AESA are all new things and it will be available by 2007.

The IAF’s attrition has been the lowest in 30 years, that speaks for itself given the IAF has not cut down on flying hours or compromised on its effectiveness.

Of the recent Mirage crashes- only one has been linked to maintenance, two were pilot error!

As for exercises not being proof of maintenance- gee whiz. The a/c are flying, and maint teams are doing their work, what could be simpler.

BTW there are enough signs that I can point to as well about a certain AF which is so starved for technology that it buys bargain basement a/c and is still clamouring for second hand throw me downs. The signs are there for all to see, wonder why the above would have to happen eh? Seems someone is really worried in recent days…

    Meow meow,
Spare me your childish whims on pride etc. Everyone here knows your true spots and stripes, so quit the faked grandstanding.
And since you think crashes are fun, may I toast a can of Miller to Mushaf Ali Mir going bye bye. Perhaps that was poor maint as well. Imagine the “embarassment”, the loss of “pride” when a CAS crashes in his sedate bird along with other brass or what about Zia then?….

Whats even more ridiculous is your selective Cut and paste from the above article:

    Heres what you omitted:

ON what basis you are making this statement that IAF safet record is the best one in past 30 years? It is the same BS of 55 Squardons coming from same source. As usual no credibility behind it. 😀 .
PAF or PA crashes are more political in nature. Not related to technical incompetency.

    Tiger01,

Your idiocy is showing and it ain’t pretty.

HR 4965 is not a resolution brought by Pallone. It is is bill, brought to the floor of the Congress by 5 Democrats and 5 Republicans, all members of the House Internatioanl Relations Committee. Do you know what that means?

When a bill clears committee in a bipartisan consensus, it rarely deson’t become law unless the President vetoes it.

Do you know ANYTHING about American law making? India does not come into the picture here because India is not a client state of the US nor does it want any freebies, unlike Pakistan. India rarely buys anything from the US anyway.

HR 4965 IH is a bill, which upon turning law in Summer 2005, will REQUIRE Pakistan to give access to A.Q.Khan or forget about military aid.

I hope you take some time, learn about American laws, know the difference between statements made by lobbyists and bills with bipartisan support.

Next post, please tell me what you know about:

    1. What’s the role of Congress in terms of US FMF (Foreign Military Financing)?

    2. What is the difference between a BILL and a RESOLUTION?

    3. What is the role of Congressional Committees?

    4. What authority does a US President have to overrule laws and reject bills that clear Congress?

Or best, pipe down and let the knowledgable people discuss the topic. Like I said, idiots should keep their mouths shut because silence is their best argument.

this will not do any thing. Will you want to bet on this with me. 😀

How do you know that my fella? Do you think your President allowed Goerge Tenet to interview A.Q.Khan on February 12, 2004 out of the goodness of his heart?

Or did Musharraf allow US a free hand to monitor all electronic traffic in and out of Pakistan as a Christmas gift?

Every thing has a price. Some times in cash, other times in terms of sovereignty. 😉

forget about aq affair. Pak military is the nuclear chief and they put there own interest above any body all. So all Pak military strategy and supplies are against only one nation.
It will be very sad day for INdia when RD-93 powered JF-17 firing R-27EP and R-73 missiles and just wait a little more when this reailty is further enforced byAL-31 powered jet enters PAF.50 years of Strategic partnership is already down the toilet drain.
i already know the russia price for Tu-142 upgrade and SSK links to other deals. You are living in fools parardise.

I am sure the Pak Cobra gunships have already used them in assaulting the caves and mud-walled tribal strongholds. Media reports certainly claim that precision strike missiles and rockets have been used, as also bombs from fixed wing a.c.

as for the P3 the US border patrol uses some versions to police
the air and land border. equipped with the right gear it can function as the “eyes and ears” on a land border and a SIGINT command post also.

ofcourse its upto the US to see how its “war on terror” gifts get
    used.

Your analysis is flawed by the time this material arrived. Operations will be over. this is called replacing old stock with new one. 😀

Interesting to note that the TOW-2A isn’t a tandem warhead. Tandems are specially made to counter ERA.

It depends which ERA you are talking about. If it is too much Indigenous ERA than even rpg can tear apart it. 🙂

I think it is avionics testing on FC-1 not integration. Fully developed avionics suite from another aircraft likely to be installed with all test completed by end of 05. pre production modle roll out around june 2005. it will be interesting to see which BVR is going to used.

screw the F-16, time to get JSF 🙂

For JSF you will have to wait untill atleast 2020. by that time nothing will be left in IAF except Flanker. F-16Block60 is the best option for IAF. Two steps above M2K5II.
