CWH Lanc
Firstly it’s a shame the Lanc isn’t coming over this summer but having read some of the posts I would like to put the record straight on one or two points.
1. Yes, someone from BBMF did post, ‘what would you think about 2 Lancs….’, but never said they were actually coming.
2. CWH were in contact with BBMF about a possible trip over.
3. We were asked if we would be able to give engineering support should the visit go ahead.
4. I have been in contact with the Lanc pilot and engineer about this trip, and they were planning to come should the funds become available. This included planning the route/spares etc.
5. Now I know some people think they know more than they actually DO know, but the bottom line is, this trip was planned and has only been cancelled due to financial reasons.
6. BBMF has NOT misled anyone over the possibility of this trip taking place, perhaps our only mistake was letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak, before it was a done deal!

They can’t look after what they have now!! so they won’t have the money to look after a flyer.

They used to ground run her at St Athan before she went to Hendon. We (black 6 team ) were asked to restore her to flying condition and fly for 3yrs but we declined as they (RAFM ) wanted it to be done at no cost to them.

BAE are not making the fairing this time, its our friends on the IOW with original drawings supplied by BBMF and unlike last time they are using them!!!!!
Mrs Fluffy here, Stewart, how can you call my husband ‘a fat lump’. I take great offence at this as he is one of the most svelte, fit members of BBMF.
Frequently to be found jogging round the base, bench presses in the hangar, no, you simply cannot call my man ‘fat’ or a ‘lump.
Others maybe……. Fluffy, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mrs Fluffy!
The mid upper fairing is being replaced again!!! because when BAE made the replacement 3yrs ago they didn’t fit any of the internal strengtheners and the fairing has cracked badly due to this, hopefully the new one will be better.

Can’t tell you that one he will kill me

As you can see LF363 has the wings back on and P7350 should be engine running next week more updates to follow
Stewart
You’ve lost me on that one?????
Headen????????????????????????????????????
Avro the only great lump in the hangar is one of my Cpl’s
From what I can remember no numbers were applied as the film company were going to make the ad so that there appeared to be 3 or 4 Bf 109’s and then they would apply the numbers later We applied the blue 8 for air to air photo’s I have the pictures plus many of her from the moment of capture to the move to Hendon but no scanner to post them.

The hangar floor has not been painted and PS915 is in it’s old markings.
Yes winter servicing 02/03, just a quick update PZ due back 1st week March
PM’s engine is back in and LF’s wings should be back on in the next week or two all air tests due early to mid March. First event March 12th Spit to Coltishall, AOC’s approval late April then starting in May a very busy season.
Hi Crazymainer.
You might be right but as I have already said we have been asked to give engineering support for their Lanc IF it comes over. At this moment until we are told otherwise the CWH must be considering such a trip or someone there is winding us up which I doubt as I know the people involved. Finally can I just say lets wait and see what happens.
