    The F-4D of the 11th Fighter Wing at Daegu AB s still there and will fly until 2010. As of Sept. 28th 2007, the 110th Fighter Squadron was disbanded however, leaving the 151st Fighter Squadron as the sole operator of F-4D in the world. The 110th is likely to be reformed with F-15K at a later date however.

    The F-4Es will also serve until 2020 as bomb-trucks. No significant upgrade comparable to the Turkish or Greek ones are being considered, however. The F-4E fleet did receive the capability to launch Israeli Popeye missile though. No definitely replacement on this one. Maybe later batch of F-15K, or maybe F-35.

    Why do you guys keep saying the F-15K will replace U.S. aircraft?

    the greeks and the turks have the most capable F-4 fleet left on the planet. the greek peace icurus 2000 F-4s are better than the German ICE Phantoms.

    although it might say quebec, that picture really looks like a place called Parry Sound, Ont. There is a Coast Guard installation there and looks very similar. I may be wrong.

    The upgraded Hornets will provide much of the same capabilities of the Super Hornet. While the F-35’s will be light years ahead……..So, Super Hornet as a stop gap would be a expensive option. In the case of Australia she will more than likey keep the Super Hornets in secondary roles after the F-35 arrives.

    last year, the U.S. and Australian had talks with Boeing about creating a super hornet block 3. a generation “4.75” upgrade with extra forward stealth capabilities and extended range, to be succeeded in 2024 by a sixth-generation fighter… so i’ve read anyways

    the capabilities of the F/A-18E/F would suit the Canadian Armed Forces exceptionally in my mind. Its beyond me why Canada has over looked the super hornet as an interim fighter before the F-35s are coming, in 2018! Right now Canada operates CF-188s, which are F/A-18A/B models. Under the new Canadian Forces hornet modenization program, the CF-188s will end up being like F/A-18C/D+ models, but the airframes are aging and Im suprised the Canadians haven’t looked at the Super Hornet yet…

    It clearly has two engines, airliner wings and a cockpit.

    well, your definition of the word “clearly,” must differ from mine. we’ll have to leave it to a vote, no MD or CRJ series aircraft have the wings and the engines positioned like that, and certainly don’t have 4 missile like stabalizers as tail fins. im not 110% convinced those shadowy lines are wings either…

    here’s why it can’t be a CRJ-900 (click on image to enlarge)

    note the difference in tail fins, totally different. the other noticible difference is that the CRJ-900 engines are set much behind the aircrafts wings, in this picture, the wings seem to come out of the engines, ruling out an aircraft right away. this is an AGM-84E SLAM-ER, ER= extended range, this missile has wings like shown in the above pictures.

    it is a cruise missile, cruise missiles have contrails like that as well. not to mention it seems to be over some sort of test range in the south somewhere.

    It is a CRJ in the colors of US Airways. Yes, it was posted before.

    it is not a CRJ-900, look at the tail fin… this is 100% a cruise missile. it is not a bgm-109, it is from the harpoon family, the “cockpit” is really just the sensors on the missile. the CRJ-900 doesn’t have rear tail fins like that at all, as for the wings, its either a shadow-light illusion or its a type of agm-84 that has the wings, like the SLAM-ER. it is in the colors of a white cruise missile.

    OK, looks like I might have talked before I knew everything…

    Her designation NC just meant that she was a full time test and eval plane. She (55-0022) had tested about every system that might have ever gone into a herk.
    Here is a picture of her in all her glory, with every bump and bruise you can imagine Here
    I knew she had a HUGE turret that was lowered through a huge retractable door in her belly, and at one time that ball was a sensor array that led to the new type sensors found on the AC-130U (as apposed to the standard LLTV found in the main entrance door of the AC-130H)

    I figured that that ball was what was pictured in that first picture (and I may be right) I thought she had been retired long before the Advanced Tactical Laser (ATL) program had started…I may be wrong, she might have had a part in it after all.

    The silly nose on the newer NC-130H is a carry over from her old DC-130 drone carrier days…

    thanks for the pic! yea, my understanding was 55-0022 began the ATL program and both the aircraft and ATL program were cut due to cost over runs and probably because as you said, it was the oldest herc in service, and then later on, the ATL program was resurrected due to the success of the ABL program, but Im trying to confirm all this…
