Yes, the “blonde” lines do look better, but overall I think I prefer this new look without them. Great makeover though.

Nice. The lines could go, but they would look good on a 747 fleet. Perhaps make the fade to blue a bit more specific (corporate).

Perhaps they are just looking at feeding more people through Hong Kong (the government) and they may take Cathay to other destinations. Also, it’s really stupid I know, but people may not take Cathay due to SARS. Here in Toronto, it’s terrible, Chinese restaurants have been devistated by impact. And it’s completely uncalled for, a total media hype.

Richard Branson seems like a pretty shrewd negotiator as well.

I like the first one a lot. Very sophisticated with a strong sense of national pride.

You would likely have to provide them with a business plan outlining how much money they will and how long it will take to make it. Facilities, passangers, what’s in the area of interest to them.

Yes, but I’m sure Hong Kong is offering attractive landing fees to airlines in the wake of SARS.

Very interesting. I understand that a lot of British people like to holiday in Spain. Is this true?

I suppose if Air France and KLM merge to the north then BA must take Iberia to the south, plus they are part of the same alliance. This would also free up BA’s fleet to south America and allow it to focus on other markets. Also gives BA two major hubs, Heathrow and Madrid (6th in Europe I believe with new runways coming online).

If this comes about, what would be the result in terms of fleet restructuring? Isn’t Iberia an Airbus operator and BA is mainly a Boeing operator (long distance)?

What do you make of it SAAB?

Also, where does this leave Lufthansa? I wonder if this surely means that Virgin and British Midland will merge also?

i like it for two reasons. It’s fun and light, which is good for a low cost arm of a carrier, and that it incorporates some of Australia’s aboriginal art work.

Isn’t United moving to Terminal One as well? I thought it was rumoured that STAR may move many of their carriers to T1???

i think that they look great. The photos that Monster sent of Qantas’ were very cool. Makes the aircraft look much more modern.

They’re using their 343, the 345 order is on hold until the airline recovers.

They will be ditching all their 747’s internationally and using aircraft in the 120 seat range domestically. They just got loans from their lessors to persue the leasing of these aircraft.

I’m wondering to myself if they will be a big customer for Bombardiers largest aircraft (can’t remember name for the life of me) as Bombardier is in trouble as well. water the grass in your own backyard so to speak.

i would love to one day convert an atic or basement into an entire model airport. I have one problem with some models, I would like to buy aircraft that are the appropriate scale next to each other. Sometimes you see a 737 that is the same size as a 747 from the same company.

The pictures featured on this post are really nice btw.

I think that it is sustainable. There is a huge Indian population in North America, and frequently on filghts to London there are numerous Indian persons on them. It’s a smart way to try and use Toronto as a hub for persons wishing to fly to the sub-continent.

I’m sure AC has researched how many people are flying on to India on their London flights. This way they free up seats on these flights for people terminating in Europe. It’s also less hassle for people to connect in Heathrow.

I can’t remember why they pulled out before. I don’t believe that it was lack of numbers though. Also, it wasn’t a direct flight, they flew through London.

Canada 3000 started the route with a 340 but went bankrupt after. C3 I believe was going over the poles.
