I’d love to visite Crete ang Greece. It’s one part of the world I’ve never been but would love to. But I’m not too fond of snails. Snails are good only because the sauce is so tasty. But I suspect it all started as a joke: find something super tasty and see if you managed to make someone eat snails.

I very dislike the tone of the article, and why do they need to bring up the battle of Trafalgar.

The brits have been with us during WWI & WWII, when the SAS was formed it was mainly composed of french paratroopers. And France is a much better ally to the UK than the USA is.

I really don’t understand the A&C comment about replacing the Mica IR because of the arrival of Meteor…

I mean that the Mica IR is nearly a pillar of the Rafale concept. It has the range of the OSF-TV, just the range required for a passive and totally silent interception on an identified (thanks to OSF) target, it is a sensor too… I can’t see how another missile would integrate better, unless it’s really a descendant of this concept, some kind of Mica IR mkII.
I’m afraid that integrating something else would be a sacrifice.

I agree completely. Then again that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement (airframe, motor, dual band datalink…). I hope they retain the concept of the mica for both self defense and bvr intercept though, wich both EM and IIR seeker, or a dual seeker with both EM AND IIR. It also makes sense if they make it dual role for both ground and air attack, as the JDRADM.

Sagem states gimbals of 60° on the seeker pdf, they don’t mention that its only for the mechanical system. You may be right, but I read that as the overall performance of the seeker.

But they were not involved in fights with coalition troops. So the situation wasn’t very complex once you identified that they were indeed putting IEDs in some place.

Gunship C295 with a side firing 30M791 canon and 7,62 gatling gun. Add 3 AASM on a multiple rack on one side and a bunch (6-8?) of brimstones under the other wing. A very good optronics suite, Link 16, Rover, and one or two onboard FACs in direct contact with the troops and the command & control center.

If there is enough room you could even fit a UCAV operator to assist in case of very complex missions

The intervew posted by aspis clearly proves that the origin of the article lies in this exchange pilot story. So yes it was an exchange pilot. Moreso because RAF Typhoon and PAF never participated at the same time.

(I’m pretty sure the PAF exchange pilots would love to fight against the indians in DACT, unless the indians forbid it).
