JSR you are hilarious. In 2017, France defense budget will be ahead of russian one…
And what percentage will be used to make us an army of US puppets specialized in proxy wars instead of an army focused on national & sphere of interest defense ?
Nic
I do, that is why I am pointing out the issue. It’s obvious you don’t since you can’t seem to comprehend the problem with DDM-NG not being “fused” within the MDPU. It is a drop in replacement without additional software added to the mission computers. Now what does tell you about sensor fusion?
it’s a part of Spectra, which is fused with everything else. And lines of software are added with every new update to the fighter. New modes & functionalities have been added to SPECTRA for years, and there is no reason to expect that has stopped.
Nic
If you can track a missile you can track a fighter.
DDM-NG is DIRCM compatible. Ie it can track something.
Nic
How? It is tied into SPECTRA, it does not provide imagery or tracking to MDPU. It is not possible as a plug and play without some integration with radar or OSF. Once aircraft passes out of FoV it wouldn’t be able to keep target track.
Do you understand the concept of sensor fusion at all?

The Coalition has released terrorists from Mosul, and they came to Palmyra. The Coalition supports terrorists.
No doubt about that.

Reliant Robin…. failed to reach orbit.
I’m quite impressed by the roll-rate though 😀

Upgrading a Hellduck: Russia’s Su-34 to Get State-of-the-Art Overhaul
Nato nickname Hellduck?
Simple:
1. It’s the first IIR based MAWS to provide video to the avionics
2. Nobody else has claimed that they can.
3. You can’t prove a negative.
1. No, see DDM-NG
2. Who would actually claim that they can track a space rocket at 900NM except some company desperate to find positives to sell the lemon of a plane they’re working on?
3. It was not a negative. You claimed that it’s the only MAWS in existence capable of doing it.
Anything else, I still have some time to waste tonight.
Nic
What do you mean it’s the only MAWS in existence that can even do that?
And you know this how ?
What are modular engines? Can a module assembly unit from an F414 be put into the ‘modular’ Rafale engine?
It means that the M88 is made of say 10/15 (I don’t remember) modules. If one of those fails, you take out the engine, replace the module, put the engine back in the plane & you’re good to go. No calibrating, no bench test, no nothing.

How many hundred thousand bucks to decide how many coffee machines it should carry?
exhibit 1 : 170 effin millions just to define the capabilities of the damn thing.
But after that quote the deal will come under scrutiny & boeing won’t be able to milk the US taxpayer as they usually do.
Nic
Where does you see a cost equity b/w a Rafale and a ASH?! Modernized Rafale cost 150M$ (india) and this comes Without Conformal fuel tanks (CFT) and stealthy Weapon pod. I won’t even mention the reliability issue with a matured fleet-wide aircraft and systems on one side, and last call improvisations on the other at a time when the Fr industry doesn’t shine on the reliability front (Thank you Airbus!).
You are aware that airbus (which is not French but a multinational clusterfneb) isn’t the manufacturer of the Rafale right?
