As I said, in certain situations. Example; Typhoon is always going to be carrying no less than six A/A missiles without taking up A/G-Wet stations. That leaves it with seven other stations to be used up for A/G munitions, drop tanks and a LDP if needed. If one includes CFTs since Tranche 3s will have the opportunity to fit them, those free up two of the wet stations which are capable of carrying 2,000lb+ weapons. So even with two CFTs fitted (each rated for 1,500 litres of fuel – or three drop tanks worth) one has seven stations for extra A/G weapons and a LDP.

So why not have, for example; regarding what they could carry:

2x ASRAAM
4x Meteor
2x Storm Shadow
4x Paveway IV
1x LDP
2x CFTs

The equivalent for Rafale would be, again why not and for example:

2x Mica
2x Meteor
2x Scalp
6x GBU-49
1x LDP
1x External Drop Tank, (2,000 litre – centre).

Not what they’d probably carry but, you never know.

This loadout comparison is a little disingenuous. If you want to fill it up completely as you did with your typhoon it would be:

2x Meteors on conformal pylons
2x Mica IR wingtip
2x Mica EM outer wing pylons
2x Scalps
6x GBU49
1 x LDP
2x CFTs (yes it is plumbed & flight tested)
1x central fuel tank (1250 or 2000L)

You got two less meteor but you also gain in versatily with having 2 IR & 2 EM BVRAAM that double as 4 very agile off-boresight self defense missiles, and you got one more fuel tank for extra range compared to the typhoon.

If the air to air pylon central points ever get required by a customer, you could also add 2 Meteor or 2 Mica instead of the center fuel tank, which means in theory you could carry 8 AAMs + 6 AASMs + 2 Scalps

US had some substantial losses with their 111 over Libya. And it’s still hard to match the low level/speed capacity of that plane.

The difference is that the Rafale has the AASM, which can be launched from low altitude & more than 10km. When the aircraft doesn’t have to pop up to aim and shoot, it is much less at risk. Basically you can launch the AASM from very near below the radar horizon.

So yes, low level might still be a great thing for the ingress when you do not hve potent stealth built in but… I doubt that the guys in the target area will be as cooperative as your post seems to depict.

Integrated SA networks hve become a strategic asset since the 70’s. You don’t defeat such things with tactics. Try to keep in mind that 22’s & B2’s are based far from any potential enmy sensors.

I think that re-reading (again) your scenario, you shld re-read the story behind the 117 that was shot down in Serbia (was it n in AIR International or Air Force Monthly ?)

Proof if need be that a stealth plane at mid/high altitude can be shot down. Nothing to do with low level flying.

Yes it is at the core of the demo, but it is just a little piece of the war that the masons are waging against catholicity and the french nation.
