I thought so bmi-star, thanks
🙁 I hope Markko does return as he’s a great talent in the sport but I think you might just be right. When you lose someone like your co driver under such circumstances, I don’t think we can begin to imagine how Markko feels. The bond the driver and co-driver make in a season, let alone since 2000, it must be like losing a twin brother 🙁
Especially this far into the season, this will be an understandable career changing moment for Markko on what ever he chooses. Markko being 4th place in the driving standings and everything to play for this must be so tough for him and his team mates 🙁
🙁 This is traggic news, I too am a huge rally fan, and this accident is deeply shocking 🙁 What a great ambassador Michael Park has been to the sport and for British rallying, a sore loss, who will not be forgotten.
My deepest condolences to Michael’s family, friends and of course Markko and his team mates. What a strong partnership they had, since 2000 I think??
R.I.P. Michael “Beef” Park 🙁

I went along, great trip for me!! :D. I missed the SA 747 any good???
The que for the toilets was out of this world, thats why I took a trip to the museum, no waiting there 😉
Spoke to a few of the Navy aircraft technicians really helpful, nice and friendly people. I would definitely visit next year (though I will probably be based there, so got no choice….ohhh harsh world)
Seeing all those Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Marine aircraft at the end made the show complete, an awesome spectacle. The show did lack in the Harrier department I felt, especially on such an occasion 🙁
Superb pictures there!!, the Jaguar line up looks great. 🙂
no problem mate, yeah I must admit driving IMO ain’t exciting, though it does give you a great sense of freedom 😀

For arguements sake i’ll say 2 maybe 3 months, based on 1 hour lessons a week, but you never know, until you start driving, your instructor will tell you how good you are and how long it will roughly take, once he has assessed your driving. I started at the end of February this year had 16 lessons (not every week) and passed this month.

LFC24 it depends, I had hour lessons costing £20 each, I paid as I went along. Though you can go with big companies, BSM, AA etc and you can also buy lessons in bulk which is cheaper in the long run. With regards to hopw long it takes, it varies between people, you could be like Wannabe and pretty much get the hang of it straight away or it might take you a while, I was inbetween I got the hang of it pretty easily, but I took my time as I only had 1 hour lessons most the time.
I know what you mean Wannabe I had to wait a long while until I my test date, I would dread to think if I had failed, I would of had to wait even longer. Thankfully I passed first time 😀
Rlangham, Citreon C2’s are the future 😉 :p

Good luck Barnowl, i’m sure you can do it mate. I was in the same situation as you, I needed to pass this time around as i’m joining the Royal Navy very soon, and with waiting lists through the roof around here in the south east of England, there would be no chance of retaking soon. I drive a Citreon C2 and even though the back window is quite small, it is an easy car to reverse (saying that I did balls up my bay parking in my test 😮 )
Anyways best of luck!!

Thanks for the replies guys,
I had 16 lessons, a total of 18 hours with an instructor, but god knows how many hours with my parents. I found it easy to learn when going on very long drives. The instructor taught me what I needed to know, road craft etc and with my parents I just perfected it. I started at the end of February this year, though left it abit late to take my test.
I totally agree andrewm, I’ve only been driving a couple of days, and unlike most my mates, I do not think driving is the best thing since sliced bread. It does get very boring and tireing but lets face it, driving is a neccessity these days (I know someone will beg to differ on that opinion 😉 )
I know i’d rather fly thats for sure 😀
