This chart says 50km:
Aha!
They will buy the buddy-buddy refuelling pack for the Su-30MKM and use IT as a combined escort/tanker for the Super Hornets- after all its got a lot of internal fuel…
Well their purpose is to be backups in case the MFDs go down….
Well theres some basic stuff on my Russian Avionics page:

Bbut ECM is one of the most secret areas of avionics.
50km?
Quoted range of AIM-120 is usually 50-70km, but recent versions have been improving this figure. AIM-120C introduced a lofted profile and smaller wings and has a longer range than earlier variants. AIM-120C-5 (2000) had a slightly larger motor, and AIM-120C-7 (IOC later this year) is specifically geared to long range with guidance and motor improvements.
Sukhoi quote a launch range of 50km for the baseline R-77 in their Su-30MK brochure.
Gunston was a big believer in V/STOL because of the danger of Soviet missiles/aircraft/special forces taking out our aircraft and airbases.
I don’t think that V/STOL is a solution for anti-American states today however. You can’t contend air superiority, and for striking at remote locations there are better lower tech solutions like cruise missiles or IRBMs. Plus, who would you buy a V/STOL aircraft from?
There were several issues- the production Yak-130 reverts to a more traditional metal construction rather than the composite-heavy joint design, for instance.
Actually, the air force has suffered very badly in post-Soviet funding. It used to get 16% of the budget, but the PVO (air defence SAMs and aircraft) was funded separately. The airforce and PVO were merged, but the funding remained at 16% of the budget, meaning it is even worse funded than other branches of the armed forces.
Note also the measures used to reduce Su-35 RCS: lining the intake ducts with RAM and treating the first stage of the engine with RAM reduced RCS significantly.

And while whe are talking V/STOL. how about this BAe Kingston project?

Ooops- here it is
The predecessor to these designs (for a Jaguar replacement, remember) was the P.103 with pivoting RB199 engines for V/STOL
