Another view of the East Fortune Twin Pin.
I can’t remember her name, but I’m certain there was a female Chief Pilot on the Duke of Brabant B25 in the mid-90’s.
I’m curious as to who that could be! I was technical crew on that aircraft in ’93/’94 so I ought to know about that I guess :p
Only twelve days to go according to this page here: http://www.geocities.com/karaya_69/rearwin.html
What’s the latest on this daring project then? 😉
Regarding the Oil leaks, it must be a common problem with the Wright Cyclones, as I vividly recall the Swiss Connie leaking oil at Duxford last year.
Septic, the only time a radial isn’t leaking oil is when it’s out of oil! 😮 When you need to shut an engine down because of an oil leak, it is because it is leaking significantly more than the other three.
Great photos!
Great photo!
On the other hand…. Coert, don’t tell me neither Peter or Yves had a camera handy when they passed Mont Blanc!
Photos please 😀
Mark12: The Dutch version would probably read ‘De slag om Engeland’.
I know of one Hunter which was recently delivered to a private owner, quite sure it was already in place on the 25th though! Can you post some more specifics? Colours, markings, single or twin-seat version etc…
So, what was the H-3130?
1. A Compaq iPaq PDA
2. A liquid cooled H-type engine from Pratt & Whitney which was under development, meant for the McDonnell XP-67.
Anybody care to guess which answer is the one Melvyn was looking for
Wasn’t there a nose section with turret as well? Sad if it has to move on, but I’m sure that there will be a museum that could take it on. Provided of course that the financial side can be arranged to the satisfaction of both parties 😉
I guess I missed the story about the project having to move on, could someone enlighten me?
That folding coffee table (sorry, plotting table) makes it naval and American to me. I remember seeing something like that in a Dauntless cockpit, but I guess it was a feature common to a few naval types.
Just checked, and it isn’t a Dauntless, so over to more learned forum members now!
That sure narrows it down 😀
I for one just don’t have a clue  More hints will be appreciated!
By the way, that’s negative thinking an Avenger in the Aviodrome or Soesterberg. It must be an Avenger in BOTH the Aviodrome and Soesterberg and a flying one at Gilze-Rijen( they all have Spitfires so what is keeping them from doing the deal) and one in front of my house (or in the garden).
I’ll go for an airworthy one at Lelystad please (killer version, never much liked those big radomes). That way we don’t have to lock it up in a museum and I’m guessing more people will get to see it compared to one based at Gilze-Rijen.
You can park the spares ship in your garden then Roger! 😀
Interesting photos indeed! Any chance of a photo of the B-25 with some specs (date/location)?
No, one’s big and orange, the other’s not quite as big and camouflaged.
Silly suggestion by me, I know. I had just never heard of that rumour. Awaiting Coert’s update now.
Wasn’t this one supposed to be going to Israel at one point?
Never heard that one. You’re not mistaking it for the Catalina that was at North Weald are you?
