two of them were, the third an R-60, but knowing that ONLY one kill is confirmed so far I really can’t answer your question in a desirable way.

Israeli Justice Minister compares Rafah raid to Nazi actions

An Israeli Cabinet minister on Sunday said the military’s demolition of Palestinian homes in the Gaza Strip reminded
him of actions the Nazis took against his family during World War II and called for a halt to the policy of destroying homes.

The remarks by Justice Minister Yosef Lapid, a Holocaust
survivor, sparked an uproar at the weekly Cabinet meeting,
according to officials at the meeting.

The ministers were discussing Israel’s demolition of homes
in the Rafah refugee camp. Dozens of homes have been
destroyed or damaged during an ongoing offensive along the
Gaza-Egypt border.

Lapid was quoted by officials at the meeting as saying a
picture of an old Palestinian woman on the rubbles of her
home reminded him “of my grandmother in the Holocaust.”

The statement outraged Likud Party ministers, who demanded he recant.

For his part, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said such comments add “oil to the fire of incitement.” Lapid said he was not comparing Israel to the Nazis but there “is no forgiveness for people who treat an old woman in this way.” (Albawaba.com)

for better reading about this I suggest people go the apropriate threads on ACIG.org instead of spreading their illusions and confusions all around.

for example, adrian is talking about the RF-4E or F-4E(S) that was shot down by an SA-8 in an ambush waaaay after the Bekaa Valley air-battles ended … still he confuses it with the actuall fight, he also talks about the F-15 that took a direct R-60 hit from a MiG-21, which BTW proves my thiory about Russian equipment being responsible for the loss of the 1982 battle in the air.

and I’ll have to consentrate on this in the air thing, although from a stratigical point of view the battle wasn’t even lost in the air, the SyAAF kept fighting till the last moment, keeping the Israelis from controling the skys and providing adequate protection for the ground troops to fight on, haven’t they sacrificed their planes and pilots the situation on the ground would’ve changed in a really bad way.

adding to that that 13 Israeli aircraft are now known to have been shot down in 82 ( many of them confirmed with PICTURES of wrecks ) and that 10 other cases are still on research by people who are looking for the facts not just sitting on their arses – like a young American friends of ours on this forum – and repeating like a parrot what the Israelis say, we know that the battle was indeed fought with profecency, but what to do about missiles that aren’t good enough to kill or radars that are easy to jamm ?????

Israel targets protesters in Rafah assault

Israeli helicopters have fired missiles at Palestinians peacefully protesting against a massive raid in the occupied Gaza Strip, leaving up to 20 dead and dozens injured.

Israeli occupation soldiers in Rafah also fired tank shells and machineguns at demonstrators protesting against Israel’s bloody invasion of the neighbouring refugee camp, said Palestinian security officials on Wednesday.

At least 40 others – mainly civilians – were injured. The majority of those wounded were women and children, medical sources told Aljazeera’s correspondent Samir Abu Shamala. Chaos swept the streets as survivors piled the wounded into vehicles.

Hospital floors were drenched with blood as doctors shouted for help and blood donations. Staff treated the wounded on the floor after quickly running out of beds.

The latest casualties raises to more than 40 Palestinians killed in Rafah refugee camp and the neighbouring city since Israel launched a massive assault on the camp early on Tuesday.

Anger swept across the occupied Gaza Strip as news spread of the attack, reported Aljazeera’s correspondent.

Teenagers killed

Earlier, Israeli occupation forces shot dead four Palestinian civilians, including two teenagers, in the Rafah refugee camp.

Israeli soldiers killed Muhammad Abu Nasr, 16, in the besieged Tal al-Sultan neighbourhood of the impoverished camp and a 13-year-old boy.

Khalil Abu Said, 37, was hit by an Israeli tank shell after coming out of his home carrying a white flag, said security sources.

Israeli troops had ordered all men to leave their homes and surrender their weapons. They also called on resistance fighters to surrender.

Occupation soldiers have also ordered by loudspeaker all males over 16 to gather in one place or risk demolition of family homes. Israel has threatened to carry out a systematic destruction of homes in the impoverished area since the start of the invasion.

Israeli tanks and infantry poured into Rafah in defiance of international criticism, drawing UN and European Union criticism that the operation could make thousands of Palestinians homeless.

Some residents of the Rafah camp said men were emerging from homes amid fears they would be harmed.
