Another vote for Jack Currie’s ‘Lancaster Target’, and of course, Wellum’s ‘First Light’.
Another new diary-
I’ve decided that I do, too! Looks much better than the usual scheme she carries.
Not sure if I love this or hate it!

(that’s a new verb – to Bluebirdteam : to restore historic machinery using only original material re-worked as required)
:applause: I love it!
Very glad that you enjoy it, but the Badda diary is all Bill’s work! :eagerness:
New diary, with extra-added boingy leggy thing!
Fantastic! Are there any pics of the first engine run?
If the money donated was for the Dornier then fine, and no matter how they went about it, at least they got the thing up at all (because I for one really thought that they wouldn’t) and now have it to preserve as best as possible. But I do think that it’s a crying shame that the RAF Museum pursued that particular project when they have things such as chunks of Stirling just languishing in the stores…
As a teenager I was collecting a lot of gauges, and regularly bought from Rodney- good stuff at reasonable prices, and a nice chap to boot. I’m remembering glasses, a moustache, grey hair, a tweed jacket…always reminded me of a teacher!
Latest diary now online…
I think I might have worked it out all for myself! A quick look this morning turned up two numbers, both of which looked like they included ‘BP’ to me…’BP’ = Boulton Paul and every picture I can find of a Defiant’s engine bearer seems to match what I have…

Thoughts?
Cheers Foray- I’ll try just that and will come back with anything I find.
Looking at Hawker stuff, I see what you mean- still can’t pin down a type though. Anyone else?
That looks generally very similar to the crunched pieces of Barracuda engine cowling that we have.
