I think it’s a shame that seeing as they went to the trouble of having Ray Hanna actually take ‘434 under a bridge, the footage of it in the programme isn’t really all that good, and you could easily think that they’d cheated it after all!
Well, there’s a reason at last then, and one that makes sense, however much of a shame it is.
I don’t think Derek Robinson ever wrote another book that was quite as good as POC, and I found it telling (and a shame) that the best parts of his ‘A Good Clean Fight’ were those that featured some familiar old names from POC, characters who at one point even reminisce about Moggy!
********, missed it.
Congrats and thanks to Phantom Phixer for a phantastic thread there- had me laughing my head off, recalling just about every one of the things listed occurring to me while working on some old car or other in the past! 😀 😀 😀 😀
I’d just prefer there not to be any historic aviation tragedies at all. 🙁
Salutations, Cattermole!
I think you need to be his wife to recognise him…..great shots of his rear end!!
Well as that’s guaranteed I’ll now never watch it again, anyone want a cheap DVD? :p 😀 😀 😀
Seriously, big thanks again; it’s always a measure of how good something is when my missus, who normally just tolerates and occasionally shows a little interest in my aviation DVDs, sat and loved it too! 😮
Based on the DVD I’ve just watched, the pleasure is entirely mine! 😀
Great DVD, much better than I’d initially assumed it was going to be, with some wonderful and thoroughly up to date footage. An absolute must for all BBMF/Lanc etc enthusiasts!
Watched the whole thing and didn’t see our Fluffy anywhere- was he hiding?! :p
Thanks again!
One DVD duly purchased. Mrs Fluffy handling it all, I see!
No offence meant and no problem etc, but I’m assuming the DVD is made from a TV transmission, as the cover looks a bit…well, home made?
Anyhow, I only have Freeview TV, so I’m looking forward to seeing it, no matter what it is!
Cheers!
The series now and forever dubbed “Spitfire Ears” due to the way continuity announcer Marcus pronounced “ace”
😀 😀 😀 😀
I found the ‘Bomber Crew’ follow up to be rather disappointing. 😮
I’m getting a few requests off-forum for a copy of the DVD- sorry folks, but upon further investigation, my older DVD player is kaput, and I no longer have the off-air VHS to work from. Sorry all!
That’s a nice idea, but 1, the copyright etc would be with Channel 4/the original production company and 2, really, my DVD is only put together from my own taping of the TV broadcast- with adverts roughly edited out and that Geordie announcer talking over the end credits, etc!
Cheers, thanks!
